I love period series, it's like traveling back in time, and see or rather know a little of that history, of those places, how life was without so much technology, and modernism.
Recently the first chapters of the second season of this series came out, 1923, I was waiting for all of them to come out to see it complete, but so far only four chapters are available, so this weekend I took the opportunity to watch them all at once.
This series as you know is a prequel to the famous story Yellowstone, and the Dutton family, here we will see a part of their struggle to keep their ranch, but at what cost, everything they had to face, fights, abuse, murder, in short, a whole war, but it was certainly worth it, because over the years, this family kept their ranch, to some extent, but they kept it.
Facts in this story
1923 is a series full of emotion, action, and a lot of adrenaline, this is what its creator Taylor Sheridan brings us, with all this story of the Dutton family, and their eternal struggle to keep their ranch, in the midst of greed, ambition, climate changes, drought, in short, so many things, but without a doubt, this family, will find a way to stay standing, against all odds.
The story is based on the old Montana, in the 1920s, as we know, a time that was just beginning to know the changes of modernism, including the means of communication such as the telephone, or refrigerators, washing machines, something totally new for that time. Even so, we can not fail to see that at that time the people who lived in the Wild West were exposed to deal with wild animals in those lands, all a danger and risk for them.
Acting and Scenery
I remind you that one of the main actors of this series is the renowned Harrison Ford, the truth is I'm not a big fan of him, but you can not deny that he is a great actor, in this series is no exception, the role he plays as the boss and owner of the ranch, in the struggle to keep it, to defend his family at all costs, with that strong and arrogant character, just like all the Duttons.
The series has good performances, a great cast, among young actors, and old school as the famous actress Helen Mirren, no doubt this woman has a great temper, the role she plays, everything she has to face, the strength she shows in the face of so many eventualities, it is certainly admirable.
As I already mentioned, it is very well recreated, with splendid scenery, of the Far West, between jungles, deserts, with the staging of these wild animals, plus climate change, the cold of the mountains, it is difficult to live in a place like this, in anxiety, practically, for everything they have to face.
Crossed stories
There is a small detail that calls my attention, and it is that here we will not only see the struggle of the Duttons for their ranch, the series shows us three stories, which may be related, but I still do not see this connection, at least one in particular, is the part of the Indians, I know they have something to do, however, it has taken too long, too much for my taste, I feel that this part detracts from the main theme, since they have only shown the confrontation of the Indians at the hands of the priests.
On the other hand, the love story, those that can never be missing, them looking to be together, but at the same time to arrive with the family, is quite an odyssey; I want to take advantage, to talk about a scene that caught my attention, and is that the young wife, arrives as an immigrant to the U.S., and it is humiliating everything that is happening. It is very unfortunate to see all that, and to think that many immigrants have to go through that, what sense does it make to humiliate them in that way, this is something that I think the story still remains, maybe not in the same way, but the humiliation, the mistreatment, is preserved despite the years.
Remarks worth watching
Well friends, this type of stories for me are the ones worth watching, perhaps for some it does not make sense, eloquence, and criticize it for its performances, and even for the story itself, however, as they say over there, there is something for everyone, I recommend it 100%, you will not get bored or regret it, 1923, is a series full of drama, action, romance, suspense and much more.

Me encantan las series de época, es como viajar en el tiempo, y ver o mejor dicho conocer un poco de esa historia, de aquellos lugares, como era la vida sin tanta tecnologÃa, y modernismo.
Hace poco salieron los primeros capÃtulos de la segunda temporada de esta serie, 1923, yo estaba esperando salieran todos para verla completa, pero hasta los momentos solo están disponibles cuatro capÃtulos, por lo que el fin de semana aproveche para mirarlos todos, de una vez.
Esta serie como bien saben es una precuela de la famosa historia Yellowstone, y de la familia Dutton, aquà veremos una parte de su lucha por mantener su rancho, pero a que costo, todo lo que tuvieron que enfrentar, peleas, maltratos, asesinatos, en fin, toda una guerra, pero sin duda valió la pena, porque a pasar de los años, esta familia mantuvo su rancho, hasta cierto punto, pero lo mantuvieron.
Hechos en esta historia
1923 es una serie llena de emoción, acción, y mucha adrenalina, eso sÃ, esto es lo que nos trae su creador Taylor Sheridan, con toda esta historia de la familia Dutton, y su eterna lucha por mantener su rancho, en medio de la codicia, la ambición, los cambios climáticos, la sequÃa, en fin, tantas cosas, pero sin duda, dicha familia, encontrara la forma de mantenerse de pie, contra todo pronóstico.
La historia se basa en la vieja Montana, en los años 20, como bien sabemos, una época que apenas estaba empezando a conocer los cambios del modernismo, entre ellos los medios de comunicación como el teléfono, o las neveras, lavadoras, algo totalmente nuevo para ese entonces. Aun asÃ, no podemos dejar de ver, que en ese entonces las personas que vivÃan en el lejano Oeste se veÃan expuestas a lidiar con los animales salvajes en esas tierras, todo un peligro y riesgo para ellos.
Actuaciones y Escenarios
Les recuerdo que uno de los actores principales de esta serie es el reconocido Harrison Ford, la verdad no soy muy fan de él, pero no se le puede negar que es un gran actor, en esta serie no es la excepción, el papel que realiza como el jefe y dueño del rancho, en la lucha por mantenerlo, por defender a su familia a todo costo, con ese carácter fuerte y soberbio, tal cual, como todos los Dutton.
La serie cuenta con buenas actuaciones, un gran reparto, entre jóvenes actores, y de la vieja escuela como la famosa actriz Helen Mirren, sin duda esta mujer tiene un gran temple, el papel que protagoniza, todo lo que tiene que enfrentar, la fortaleza que muestra ante tantas eventualidades, sin duda es admirable.
Como ya les mencioné, está muy bien recreada, con escenarios esplendidos, del lejano Oeste, entre selvas, desiertos, con la puesta en escena de estos animales salvajes, más el cambio climático, el frio de las montañas, es difÃcil vivir en un lugar asÃ, en zozobra, prácticamente, por todo lo que deben enfrentar.
Historias cruzadas
Hay un pequeño detalle que me llama la atención, y es que aquà no solo veremos la lucha de los Dutton por su rancho, la serie nos muestra tres historias, que quizás estén relacionados, pero aún no le veo esta conexión, por lo menos uno en particular, es la parte de los indios, sé que ellos tienen algo que ver, sin embargo, se ha tardado mucho, demasiado para mi gusto, siento que esa parte le resta el tema principal, puesto que solo han mostrado el enfrentamiento de los indÃgenas a mano de los curas.
Por otra parte, la historia de amor, esas que nunca pueden faltar, ellos buscando estar juntos, pero a la vez llegar con la familia, es toda una odisea; quiero aprovechar, hablar sobre una escena que me llamo la atención, y es que la joven esposa, llega como inmigrante a los EE.UU, y es humillante todo el proceso, para ser aprobada, y que la dejen entrar, es muy lamentable ver todo eso, y pensar que muchos inmigrantes deber pasar por eso, qué sentido tiene, humillarlos de esa forma, esto es algo, que creo la historia aún se mantiene, quizás no de la misma forma, pero la humillación, el maltrato, se conserva a pesar de los años.
Remaques que vale la pena ver
Bien amigos, este tipo de historias para mà son las que valen la pena ver, quizás para algunos no tenga sentido, elocuencia, y la critiquen por sus actuaciones, e incluso por la misma historia, sin embargo, como dicen por allÃ, hay para todos los gustos, yo se las recomiendo al 100%, no se van a aburrir ni arrepentir, 1923, es una serie llena de drama, acción, romance, suspenso y mucho más.

me esta gustando mas esta segunda temporada. Estoy sufriendo con esa mujer , Alexandra, joder, ¿Qué mas le puede pasar??? Parece protagonista de telenovela, falta que quede ciega, paralitica y al final pierda la memoria antes de llegar al rancho.
Espero que la historia de esa pareja, quizás el hijo que ella va a tener es en realidad el abuelo de John Dutton, ellos mueren seguramente y el otro pierde al hijo y termina criando a este, es el giro que quiero de todo esto, pro todo el sufrimiento que han pasado para poder estar juntos merecen ser los tatarabuelos de los Dutton de la serie original.
Jajajaja si es cierto, le pasa cada cosa, por eso digo, esa parte ya la están alargando mucho, que terminen de llegar de una vez, bueno esperemos a ver, algún papel deben tener ellos, por tanto, sufrimiento, la verdad que esta segunda temporada ha estado un poco más emocionante, veremos como termina.
