Ésta película comienza con un partido de béisbol juvenil. Es el norte de Denver en 1974 y los niños corren por el campo bajo un cielo nublado. El público lanza porras a Finney, el protagonista de ésta película, quien viene a lanzar la bola. Al tercer lanzamiento con dos strikes conseguidos, el bateador Bruce lo logra y hace un home run y Finn sale del campo decepcionado mientras a Bruce lo alaban sus compañeros. Al despedirse, Bruce se acerca a Finn y hace un halago sobre su buen brazo. Mientras todo sigue su rumbo, muestran a Bruce conduciendo en su bicicleta por las calles, hasta que visualiza una furgoneta negra y se detiene con un semblante preocupado, cayendo en cuenta de que algo andaba mal.
La siguiente escena es de Finney en su casa desayunando un cereal mientras su padre Lee el periódico. Al salir a la escuela con su hermana menor, Gwen, se detienen un momento a ver un cartel. Bruce está desaparecido, y Finn le pregunta a su hermana si ella cree que los encuentren alguna vez, dando a entender que hay más niños perdidos. Corren hasta una aglomeración de gente, dónde se encuentran dos jóvenes en el centro peleándose entre ellos. Al culminar la pelea Finn le dice a Gwen para irse rápidamente, y mientras se van su hermana cuenta que desde que "el raptor" secuestró a Vance, el chico más rudo de la escuela, Robin quien ganó en la pelea de hace un momento pasó a ser el de más fuerza ahí. En el camino, detrás de ellos pasa una furgoneta negra.
Al estar en la escuela, luego de clases, se encuentra en el pasillo con tres chicos que pretendían molestarlo, así que se apresura para llegar al baño y esconderse en un cubículo pero lastimosamente los tres chicos lo encuentran y obligan a salir. Luego de varias palabras despectivas hacían Finn, al baño entra Robin y los tres chicos, al notar sus manos llenas de sangre por la pelea anterior, dejan de molestar a Finn. Acto seguido, Robin les advierte el no molestar más a Finn ya que si lo hacen, estarían metiéndose con él; los tres se van. Quedan los dos solos, hablando sobre la pelea, películas y una lección que le dice Robin a Finn sobre empezar a defenderse él de ahora en adelante. Hasta que Robin le pregunta si puede pasar por su casa para estudiar matemáticas ya que Finn explica mejor que el maestro.
Al mismo tiempo Gwen está en su clase cuando dos detectives vienen por ella. Estando a solas le preguntan sobre su amistad con la hermana de Bruce, y sobre un extraño sueño que tuvo Gwen con éste último, el cual le contó a su amiga. Ella dice, además de que sólo fue un sueño, que en él vió que se lo llevaba un extraño hombre con globos negros en una furgoneta, a lo que el detective le dice que en el lugar donde se lo llevaron, habían unos globos negros; y no sólo allí, sino que en el secuestro de Vance también lo hubieron. Luego de un rato de preguntarle a ella qué les escondía sobre saber esa información que no había salido a la luz, ella confiesa que a veces sus sueños son reales.
Al otro día en la mañana, Finn despierta con gritos desde afuera y al salir se encuentra con su padre azotando con un cinturón a su hermanita, gritando que por su culpa y las de sus sueños los policías fueron a su trabajo. Finn le grita desde lo lejos, con temor de meterse en la pelea. Gwen grita y llora, y su padre le repite que ella no es como su madre y no ve cosas que no están allí.
Por otro lado está Robin caminando por las calles y cortan la escena en el momento en el que llega a un lugar donde se encuentra una furgoneta negra y un hombre se baja de ella y camina hacia él.
Es una película con bastante suspenso y desespero. Trae reflexiones para que quien pueda sentir que tal vez no es fuerte, sepa que siempre va a tener algo en lo que destaca de los demás y que eso siempre será su fuerza ante todo. La recomiendo a quienes les encantan los thrillers donde el nerviosismo supere la trama.
This film begins with a youth baseball game. It's north Denver in 1974 and the kids are running around the field under cloudy skies. The crowd cheers for Finney, the protagonist of this film, who comes to throw the ball. On the third pitch with two strikes, the batter Bruce makes it and hits a home run and Finn leaves the field disappointed while Bruce is praised by his teammates. As they say goodbye, Bruce approaches Finn and compliments him on his good arm. As everything goes on, Bruce is shown riding his bike through the streets, until he spots a black van and stops with a worried look on his face, realizing something is wrong.
The next scene is of Finney at home eating cereal for breakfast while his father reads the newspaper. As he leaves for school with his younger sister, Gwen, they stop for a moment to look at a sign. Bruce is missing, and Finn asks his sister if she thinks they will ever find them, implying that there are more missing children. They run to a crowd of people, where they find two young men in the middle fighting each other. At the end of the fight Finn tells Gwen to leave quickly, and as they leave his sister tells them that since "the kidnapper" kidnapped Vance, the toughest kid in the school, Robin, who won the fight just now, has become the strongest one there. On the way, a black van passes behind them.
When he was at school, after class, he met three boys in the hallway who wanted to bother him, so he hurried to the bathroom and hid in a cubicle, but unfortunately the three boys found him and forced him to get out. After several derogatory words towards Finn, Robin enters the bathroom and the three boys, noticing his hands full of blood from the previous fight, stop bothering Finn. Then, Robin warns them not to bother Finn anymore because if they do, they would be messing with him; the three of them leave. The two are left alone, talking about the fight, movies and a lesson Robin tells Finn about starting to stand up for himself from now on. Until Robin asks him if he can stop by his house to study math since Finn explains better than the teacher.
At the same time Gwen is in her class when two detectives come for her. Being alone they ask her about her friendship with Bruce's sister, and about a strange dream Gwen had about Bruce, which she told her friend. She says, besides that it was just a dream, that in it she saw him being taken away by a strange man with black balloons in a van, to which the detective tells her that in the place where he was taken, there were black balloons; and not only there, but in Vance's kidnapping there were also black balloons. After a while of asking her what she was hiding from them about knowing that information that had not come to light, she confesses that sometimes her dreams are real.
The next morning, Finn wakes up to screams from outside and when he comes out he finds his father whipping his little sister with a belt, yelling that because of him and his dreams the cops went to his job. Finn yells at him from afar, afraid to get into the fight. Gwen screams and cries, and her father repeats to her that she is not like her mother and doesn't see things that aren't there.
On the other side is Robin walking through the streets and they cut the scene at the moment when he comes to a place where a black van is located and a man gets out of it and walks towards him.
It is a film with quite a bit of suspense and despair. It brings reflections for those who may feel that maybe they are not strong, to know that they will always have something in which they stand out from others and that will always be their strength above all else. I recommend it to those who love thrillers where the nervousness overcomes the plot.
Esta peli espero poder verla pronto, pienso que es de lo mejor del género de terror que va a salir por estos meses y de verdad que espero que cumpla con sus expectativas.
