I spent the whole day with a migraine wanting to take my right eye out of my head, then I started watching Everything Everywhere All at Once and I didn't want to take my eye out of my head anymore, but I still had a migraine, so I drank water, ate, and although I still have a migraine I am here starting to write this which I don't know how it will end, I still have to write it or I won't be able to sleep today even if I take the medication the psychiatrist told me to take.
Since the trailer came out last December I wanted to see this movie with an insane desire that I only endured when I forgot it existed, only to remember it again and suffer not being able to see it. Today I had the surprise of being able to see it and it changed my day completely. I still have a migraine, I still have a dry mouth, but I have sweet bread and the incredible experience of having seen this movie, so much so that I find myself singing along to Florence + The Machine's latest album as I write this pointless attempt at a review.
Everything Everywhere All at Once will revolve around Evelyn, a Chinese immigrant woman who from one moment to another will have to do everything possible to save her world, and the hundreds of other worlds that are in hundreds of other universes, all this while facing Juju Chewbacca, an incredible dark force that ends with all the worlds of the universes it reaches; only Evelyn can against Jobu Tobacky, so we will have to see these two incredible hours to get to know the end of all this multiversal madness.
Pasé todo el día con migraña queriendo sacarme el ojo derecho de la cabeza, luego comencé a ver Everything Everywhere All at Once y ya no quise sacarme el ojo de la cabeza, pero seguía con la migraña, así que tomé agua, comí, y aunque sigo con migraña estoy aquí comenzando a escribir esto que no sé cómo vaya a terminar, pero igual tengo que escribirlo o no podré dormir hoy aunque me tome la medicación que me mandó la psiquiatra.
Desde que salió el trailer el diciembre del año pasado quería ver esta película con unas insanas ganas que solo soportaba cuando olvidaba que existía, solo para recordarlo de nuevo y sufrir al no poder verla. Hoy tuve la sorpresa de poder verla y me cambió el día por completo. Sigo con migraña, sigo con la boca seca, pero tengo pan dulce y la increíble experiencia de haber visto esta película, tanto así que me encontro cantando el último album de Florence + The Machine mientras escribo este intente de reseña sin sentido alguno.
Everything Everywhere All at Once girará alrededor de Evelyn, una mujer china inmigrante que de un momento para otro tendrá que hacer todo lo posible por salvar su mundo, y los cientos de otros mundos que se encuentran en otros cientos de universos, todo esto al enfrentarse a Juju Chewbacca, una increíble fuerza oscura que acaba con todos los mundos de los universos a los que llega; solo Evelyn puede contra Jobu Tobacky, así que tendremos que ver estas dos increíbles horas para lograr saber el final de toda esta locura multiversal.
I mean, I already knew this movie was amazing, a gem that was going to leave my brain excited forcing me to do this review all at once, but despite all that, I didn't know what to expect, I searched for spoilers like you have no idea and I didn't get any, I didn't know what to expect when I started watching it, and not even knowing that I would have been prepared for everything I saw.
It consists of three parts, the first part is Everything, i.e., Todo; the second part is Everywhere, i.e., En Todas Partes; and the third part is Everything Everywhere All at Once, i.e., Todo En Todas Partes Al Mismo Tiempo. I have to change this when translating it, what a bummer, maybe I'll leave it like that, I don't care. In the end, I did leave it that way. Lol.
The first part is horrible, it made me want to stop it because I couldn't stand the pace the movie had, it was too fast-paced and my anxiety couldn't take it, I don't know how Evelyn could stand it, she didn't even have 1 second of rest at any point, and when she did, it made you want to cry because of how ephemeral it was. The second part exploded in my brain, even though there is a lot of information in the first part, in the second part both Evelyn and us manage to understand everything we have been told, we see the reality of things and we can only take a deep breath, only to let the air out in the third part and cry, just cry, I can't say more.
O sea, ya sabía que esta película era increíble, una joya que iba a dejar mi cerebro excitado obligándome a hacer esta reseña de golpe, pero a pesar de todo eso, no sabía qué esperar, busqué spoilers como no tienen idea y no conseguí ninguno, no sabía a qué atenerme cuando la comenzara a ver, y definitamente ni siquiera sabiéndolo hubiera estado preparade para todo lo que vi.
Consta de tres partes, la primera parte es Everything, es decir, Todo; la segunda parte es Everywhere, es decir, En Todas Partes; y la tercera parte es Everything Everywhere All at Once, es decir, Todo En Todas Partes Al Mismo Tiempo. Esto debo cambiarlo al traducirlo, qué fastidio, quizás lo deje así, no me importa. Al final sí lo dejé así. Lol.
La primera parte es horrible, hizo que quisiera pararla porque no podía soportar el ritmo que tenía la película, era demasiado acelerado y mi ansiedad no podía soportarlo, no sé cómo Evelyn podía soportarlo, no tenía ni 1 segundo de descanso en ningún momento, y cuando lo tenía, daban ganas de llorar por lo efímero que era. La segunda parte me explotó el cerebro, si bien hay una gran cantidad de información en la primera parte, en la segunda parte tanto Evelyn como nosotres logramos entender todo lo que nos han dicho, vemos la realidad de las cosas y solo nos queda respirar hondo, solo para soltar el aire en la tercera parte y llorar, solo llorar, no puedo decir más.
In many two reviews, I read there was one thing in common that I thought unnecessary to say, but after seeing it I understand it, and it's true, Everything Everywhere All at Once beats Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness even without them being part of the same competition between comic book adaptation brands. Yes, it seems ridiculous to say it, but it's a completely valid thing to say, and only after seeing the two films do you understand and have no problem accepting that.
While we are fooled into believing that the most important thing about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the other universes, things don't end up being like that and they take second or third place among many plots that are almost forced and don't end up fitting as they would like, only turning the movie into a not very well invented excuse to make way for many other future Marvel Universe productions.
On the contrary, we have Everything Everywhere All at Once where everything happens differently, there are thousands of things, there are references even in the soup, that is, everywhere, and despite the excessive amount of elements used in the film nothing feels forced, watching it is like putting together the most difficult puzzle in the world without help and put it together in a single attempt, with a single cup of tea, as if it were as easy and natural as breathing.
En muchas dos reseñas que leí hubo una cosa en común que creí innecesario decir, pero después de verla lo entiendo, y es cierto, Everything Everywhere All at Once le gana a Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness incluso sin que sean parte de una misma competencia entre marcas de adaptaciones de comics. Sí, parece una ridiculez decirlo, pero es algo completamente válido y solo después de ver las dos películas se entiende y no se tiene ningún problema al aceptar eso.
Si bien somos engañades al creer que lo más importante de Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness son los otros universos, las cosas no terminan siendo así y pasan a segundo o tercer plano entre muchos argumentos que son casi forzados y no terminan de encajar como quisieran, solo convirtiéndo la película en una excusa no muy bien inventada para así darle paso a muchas otras producciones futuras del Universo Marvel.
Por el contrario, tenemos a Everything Everywhere All at Once donde todo sucede de una forma diferente, hay miles de cosas, hay referencias hasta en la sopa, es decir, en todos lados, y a pesar de excesiva cantidad de elementos usados en la película nada se siente forzado, verla es como armar el rompecabezas más difícil del mundo sin ayuda y armarlo en un solo intento, con una sola taza de té, como si fuera tan fácil y natural como respirar.
I don't want to delve too much into the multiverse part, but I had to say all that. It's just too amazing how a movie like this doesn't feel dense at all, not complicated at all, and gets easier and easier to watch. There is something that helps a lot in that and that is that the series is full of comedy like you have no idea, very weird, nonsensical, ridiculous comedy, that sometimes even makes you feel sorry for how awful it is, but it does its job, it makes you laugh, it lightens a little bit everything we are watching and makes it easy to digest without feeling forced as it usually happens many times when movies resort to comedy to lighten up what they are presenting.
Mydog, the performances, fuck, the performances, I don't know how many times I felt like my brain was going to melt watching Jamie Lee Curtis next to Michelle Yeoh, fuck, and I have to make this confession, I didn't know it was Jamie Lee Curtis until almost halfway through the movie when I saw her make a very her expression, otherwise, I wouldn't have known until I saw the cast on IMDb while looking up the images.
Everything Everywhere All at Once made love to my brain and I can only say it is amazing. This I can say, at first I thought and expected it to be a horror movie, and I don't know at what point I imagined Michelle Yeoh with 8 arms a la Doctor Strange, but my mind was sure it was going to be like that, obviously I was wrong, but I didn't care; aha, about it being a horror movie, I thought it was and it wasn't, and I'm glad it was a relatively normal movie that does have moments of tension, moments of fear, but they are not what characterizes or defines the movie.
No quiero ahondar en mucho en la parte del multiverso, pero debía decir todo eso. Es demasiado increíble el hecho de que una película de este tipo no se sienta nada densa, nada complicada, y en realidad se vaya haciendo cada vez más fácil de ver. Hay algo que ayuda mucho en eso y es que la serie está llena de comedia como no tienen idea, una comedia muy rara, sin sentido, ridícula, que a veces hasta da pena de lo horrible que es, pero cumple su cometido, hace reír, aligera un poco todo lo que estamos viendo y hace que se fácil de digerir sin sentirse forzado como suele ocurrir muchas veces cuando las películas recurren a la comedia para aligerar lo que presentan.
Mydog, las actuaciones, joder, las actuaciones, no sé cuántas veces sentí que mi cerebro iba a derretirse viendo a Jamie Lee Curtis junto a Michelle Yeoh, joder, y debo hacer esta confesión, no supe que era Jamie Lee Curtis casi hasta la mitad de la película cuando la vi hacer una expresión muy de ella, si no, no lo hubiera sabido hasta ver el reparto en imdb mientras buscaba las imágenes.
Everything Everywhere All at Once le hizo el amor a mi cerebro y solo puedo decir que es increíble. Esto si lo puedo decir, al principio pensaba y esperaba que fuera una película de terror, y no sé en qué momento imaginé a Michelle Yeoh con 8 brazos a lo Doctor Strange, pero mi mente estaba segura de que iba a ser así, obviamente me equivoqué, pero no me importó; ajá, lo de que era una película de terror, pensé que lo era y no fue así, y me alegra de que haya sido una película relativamente normal que sí tiene momentos de tensión, momentos de miedo, pero no son lo característico ni lo que define a la película.

There you have the trailer, and I recommend you not to watch it because I dislike it, I mean, I'm thankful I forgot all about it when I saw the movie, otherwise, I would have known everything that was going on from the beginning, and even though they never hide it, many denouements have a probability of happening depending on the actions taken by the characters, but if I had remembered the trailer completely I would have known the ending, and no, I don't like it when trailers do that, I don't care, I would have enjoyed it and I would have been even more excited, but for the rest of the world, it's not like that.
Hay una escena en específico, y ustedes sabrán cuál es, no, mentira, no van a saber, porque son demasiadas las escenas que son así, escenas completamente ridículas, sin sentido, donde se agarrán de la idea de que todo puede llegar a ser realidad en otros universos solo con la idea de pensarlo, y sí, llegaremos a ver muchas ideas sin sentido, ridículas, y desquiciadas vueltas realidad, y no sabremos cómo sentirnos con respecto a ellas, porque llegaremos a creer que son inútiles y no tienen nada de relevancia, pero nos darán una cachetada, nos harán callar, y solo nos quedará disfrutar de esta obra maestra.
Sé que debería haberles hablado del verdadero sentido de la historia, de lo que nos enseña, su mensaje y todo eso, pero no, no me gusta hacerlo todo el tiempo, porque además si lo hacía iba a ser el mayor spoiler que les pudieran hacer de la película, y créanlo o no, no les hice spoiler en esta resella, estoy orgullose de mí misme por eso.
Ahí tienen el trailer, y les recomiendo que no lo vean, porque me cae muy mal, o sea, agradezco haberlo olvidado por completo al momento de ver la película, porque si no hubiera sabido todo lo que pasaba desde el principio, y aunque nunca lo ocultan, hay muchos desenlaces que tienen una probabilidad de suceder dependiendo de las acciones que tomen los personajes, pero si hubiera recordado el trailer por completo hubiera sabido el final, y no, no me gusta cuando los trailers hacen eso, a mí no me importa, la hubiera disfrutado y me hubiera emocionado más incluso, pero para el resto del mundo no es así.

OMG!!!!! esta es una de las mejores películas de año , sin duda alguna. UN orgasmo cerebral, tal cual. Joder, no encuentro como explicar esta maravilla, solo hay que verla y disfrutar de toda su genialidad, en ocasiones ridícula, pero que me hizo reír demasiado. Hay secuencias inolvidables. Las rocas , me partía de risa con eso. Corriendo atrás del mapache, que locura. Toda la peli es una locura, pero fascinante, se entiende todo, en todas partes, al mismo tiempo jajajaja Michelle Yeoh esta fabulosa. Yo si reconocí a Jamie Lee Curtis, quien también esta genial , en todos los multiversos XD. La mejor película sobre multiversos , hasta los momentos. Películas que me hacen amar el cine ¿Cómo es que hay tan poco gente hablando de este film? ¡demonios! La escena cuando se meten unas cosas por el trasero, la repetí como tres veces XD

This was a great movie. I like the fact that we are seeing more multiverse movies come out and seeing how creative writers can get with their stories. I absolutely loved when I saw it and because of this review I think I am going to see it again.
Watch it again, I'm gonna do it soon. This movie it's a masterpiece.
