I have many mixed feelings with this movie, because I put it on without paying attention to anything it said and I thought it was a series, so after watching the first twenty minutes and noticing that I hadn't finished the first chapter and started the second one automatically, I paused it and realized it was a movie, I said no, that could not be, I needed at least six chapters of filler to satisfy me and get used to the characters and learn their names, because even now I only remember Lio and Galo, who are the main characters, and I only remember because they say it many times at the end, because otherwise, I would not even remember their names.
Promare takes place in a world where thirty years before the Burnish emerged, evolved humans who have the power to control a fire like never seen in this world, well, to control would be giving them too much credit, because during the first apirition of all of them around the world many people died in those uncontrollable fires they caused, because not even they knew what was going on. Then there are many fire control groups and all that, but our interest is between Galo, an unbearable fireman who does everything possible to always win and show off while shouting names as if they were necessary spells to do everything right, I laughed a lot; and Lio, the leader of the Mad Burnish, a group labeled as terrorists because they spend their time causing fires everywhere. Both are going to face each other and from the moment they meet, many things begin to change for them, because things are not what they seem and they will have to put pride on their side to save the world from destruction.
Tengo muchos sentimientos encontrados con esta película, porque la puse sin prestarle atención a nada de lo que decía y pensé que era una serie, así que al haber visto los primeros veinte minutos y notar que no había finalizado el primer capítulo y comenzado el segundo automaticamente, le puse pausa y me di cuenta de que era una película, dije que no, que eso no podía ser, que yo necesitaba al menos seis capítulos de relleno para satisacerme y acustumbrarme a los personajes y aprenderme sus nombres, pues aún ahorita solo recuerdo a Lio y Galo, que son los protagonistas, y solo lo recuerdo porque lo dicen muchas veces al final, porque si no, no recordaría ni sus nombres.
Promare tiene lugar en un mundo donde treinta años antes surgieron los Burnish, humanos evolucionados que tienen el poder controlar un fuego como nunca visto en este mundo, bueno, controlar sería darles mucho crédito, pues durante la primera apirición de todos ellos alrededor del mundo muchas personas murieron en esos incendios incotrolables que causaron, pues ni siquiera ellos sabían qué era lo que estaba pasando. Entonces hay muchos grupos de control de incendios y todo eso, pero nuestro interes tiene lugar entre Galo, un bombero insoportable que hace todo lo posible por ganar siempre y lucirse mientras está gritando nombres como si fueran hechizos necesarios para poder hacer todo bien, me daba mucha risa; y en Lio, el lider de los Mad Burnish, un grupo catalogado como terrorista porque se la pasan causando incendios en todos lados. Ambos se van a enfrentar y desde el momento en el que se conocen muchas cosas comienzan a cambiar para ellos, pues las cosas no son lo que parecen y tendrán que poner orgullos de lado para salvar al mundo de su destrucción.
I still suffer because it was not a series and everything happened too fast for my taste, I expected to watch it calmly and no, I was forced to sit in a position to pay attention and not blink because then I would miss the dialogues and the fights and no, none of that could go under the table for me, no, everything was very important, there is not even ten minutes of filler in the movie, it is compact, perfect, and the best of the best, funny, it has its traumas and its dramas, existentialism, philosophy, everything of everything, a perfect cocktail to enjoy it and want more until it is an eternal vice. Sorry, it's the dream speaking for me.
I loved the animation, although truth be told, during the fights many times I didn't understand what the fuck was going on because I didn't see anything else besides moving blobs that didn't have a very defined shape, so yes, my brain was disconnected during the movies sometimes because I didn't understand what I was seeing. The soundtrack was perfect too, I loved it so much.
Sigo sufriendo porque no fue una serie y todo sucedió muy rápido para mi gusto, esperaba verla con calma y no, me forzaron a sentarme en posición de prestar atención y no parpadear porque entonces me perdería de los diálogos y las peleas y no, nada de eso podía pasar por debajo de la mesa para mí, no, todo era muy importante, no hay ni diez minutos de rellena en la película, es compacta, perfecta, y de lo mejor de lo mejor, divertida, tiene sus traumas y sus dramas, existencialismo, filosofía, todo de todo, un cóctel perfecto para disfrutarlo y querer más hasta que sea un vicio eterno. Lo siento, es el sueño hablando por mí.
Ame la animación, aunque la verdad sea dicha, durante las peleas muchas veces no entendía qué carajos era lo que estaba sucediendo porque no veía nada más aparte de manchas en moviviento que no tenían una forma muy definida que digamos, así que sí, mi cerebro se desconectada durante las pelas a veces porque no entendía qué era lo que estaba viendo. El soundtrack fue perfecto también, lo amé mucho.
There is a disease of which I am a poor victim, and it is that everything attracts me much more attention and seems much better if it is queer, and if I see something that is not queer, I want to turn it into something a thousand times better than it already is, and that happened to me watching this movie, I couldn't help but imagine a boys love, specifically an enemies to lovers in this case, and it was amazing, better than I would have wanted, and I know that somewhere on Wattpad there is a story made by a 13 year old teenager about how Galo and Lio went from being enemies to loving each other with an insane madness. Maybe not by a 13 year old teenager, but I know that story must exist, I just don't want to go looking for it because I don't know what I'll do if I find it, besides read it, of course.
Also, the story is simple as can be, we have the usual clichés, good characters who are not really good, people who are manipulated and have to decide what to do for their emotional and mental well-being, bad guys who are bad and will always be bad, bad guys who are not really bad and are just misunderstood in a world where they are used as the scapegoat of a narrative manipulated for the sake of some, and we have the idiot hero who will do good no matter what, and for that alone I like Galo, even if he is actually unbearable at times.
Hay una enfermedad de la que yo soy una pobre víctima, y es que todo me llama mucho más la atención y me parece mucho mejor si es queer, y si veo algo que no es queer, quiero convertirlo para que sea algo mil veces mejor de lo que ya es, y eso me pasó viendo esta película, no pude dejar de imaginarme un boys love, específicamente un enemies to lovers en este caso, y fue increíble, mejor de lo que hubiera querido, y sé que en algún ricón de Wattpad hay una historia hecha por una adolescente de 13 años sobre cómo Galo y Lio pasaron de ser enemigos a amarse con una locura insana. Quizás no por una adolescente de 13 años, pero sé que esa historia debe existir, solo que no quiero ir a buscarla porque no sé qué haré si la encuentro, además de leerla, claro está.
Además, la historia es sencilla dentro de lo que cabe, tenemos los clichés de siempre, personajes buenos que en realidad no son buenos, personas que son manipuladas y tienen que decidir qué hacer para su bienestar emocional y mental, malos que son malos y siempre serán malos, malos que en realidad no son malos y solo son incomprendidos en un mundo donde son usados como el chivo expiatorio de una narrativa manipulada por el bien de algunos, y tenemos al héroe idiota que hará bien sin importar qué, y solo por eso Galo me cae bien, aunque en realidad sea insoportable a veces.
One of my favorite things is that the trailer doesn't mention one of the best plot twists, and that I'm just not going to mention to you, but it's going to be great, plus, I'll just say that we already know that there are many different types of fire, and that red is not the most potent or pure, so to speak, and that's something that they're going to have to work on in the movie, because there are things that have to be done, and they can't be avoided, so no matter what some people say, it's a job that has to be done.
Una de mis cosas favoritos es que el trailer no menciona uno de los mejores giros argumentales, y que justamente no les voy a mencionar, pero va a estar genial, además, solo diré que ya sabemos que hay muchos diferentes tipos de fuego, y que el rojo no es el más potente o puro, por decirlo de cierta forma, y eso es algo en lo que van a tener que trabajar en la película, porque hay cosas que deben hacerse, y no se pueden evitar, así que sin importar lo que digan algunos, es un trabajo que debe llevarse a cabo.
