I don't know how long I've been listening to the movie's theme song on loop, but I love it, the humming at the beginning I love it, the whole song relaxes my mind even if it makes me want to cry. I already saw Suzume, I loved it, but as always, just because I loved it doesn't mean I don't have criticisms to make, it's just that unfortunately it was just what I expected and it didn't surpass anything I've already seen in terms of animation, and all this because it falls into totally unnecessary clichés that impoverish the development of the story and the characters, and it is unfortunate, because it could have been different and only when I found that out after having seen the movie is that I decided to make this review.
Suzume is the name of our protagonist, she has a tragic past with many things to solve, but one day she meets Souta, who out of nowhere asks her about a door she is looking for, that door is somewhere abandoned in the city where Suzume lives, so she tells him where the ruins are, and she decides to go on with her day, only to repent and look for him in the ruins, where she will find him struggling to close the door she was looking for, from where an evil from another world comes out and threatens to end ours, being this the beginning of an adventure where Suzume will have to fight against that evil from another world, while she discovers and solves things from her past, making decisions that no one should have to make in her life.
No sé cúanto tiempo llevo escuchando en bucle la canción de la película, pero la amo, el tarareo del principio me encanta, toda la canción relaja mi mente aunque me den ganas de llorar. Ya vi Suzume, me encantó, pero como siempre, que me haya encantado no significa que no tenga críticas que hacerle, es solo que lamentalemente fue justo lo que esperaba y no llegó a superar nada de lo que ya he visto en cuanto a animación se refiere, y todo esto porque cae en clichés totalmente innecesarios que empobrecen al desarrollo de la historia y de los personajes, y es lamentable, porque pudo haber sido diferente y solo al enterarme de eso después de haber visto la película es que decidí hacer esta reseña.
Suzume es el nombre de nuestra protagonista, tiene un pasado trágico con muchas cosas que resolver, pero un día se encuentra a Souta, quien de la nada le pregunta por una puerta que está buscando, esa puerta se encuentra en algún lugar abandonado de la ciudad donde vive Suzume, así que ella le dice donde están las ruinas, y ella decide seguir con su día, solo para arrepentirse y buscarlo en las ruinas, donde lo va a encontrar luchando por cerrar la puerta que estaba buscando, de donde sale un mal de otro mundo que amenaza por acabar con el nuestro, siendo este el inicio de una aventura donde Suzume tendrá que luchar contra ese mal de otro mundo, mientras descubre y resuelve cosas de su pasado, tomando decisiones que nadie debería tener que tomar en su vida.
The trailer already says everything that is going to happen, so I recommend watching the movie without watching the trailer, although if you already know Makoto Shinkai and his creations, such as Weathering with you, The Garden of Words, and his flagship Your Name or Kimi no na wa, however you know it; you'll already know what to expect in this film, and certainly that was a hindrance in me enjoying most of the film, as I said, Suzume's story is amazing, but it's all degraded the moment she meets Souta, who initiates her into this amazing adventure, well, not the moment she meets him, although some of it is, but more so when they decide to give her a relationship with him when it's more far-fetched than any LGBTQIA+ inclusion they condemn of being forced. Suzume and Souta's relationship did get forced.
I say all this at the beginning because in an interview Makoto said that he wanted to get out of the Your Name formula of boy and girl meet and fall in love, that he wanted to do something different, where there wasn't going to be any boy in sight, where there wouldn't be the need for a romantic relationship, where it would be a girl who would immerse Suzume in this whole adventure that changed her life forever, where it wouldn't even have to be a chicha, because he said he even considered the option of a non-binary person, and reading that was like a little warm hug to my soul; in the end the studio rejected all his options and told him to stick to his usual formula and not make anything up. That hurts, because Makoto said he just wanted to make a story about people overcoming things in their lives, where romance is not necessary, and he was told no.
El trailer ya dice todo lo que va a pasar, así que recomiendo ver la película sin ver el trailer, aunque si ya conocen a Makoto Shinkai y sus creaciones, como Weathering with you, The Garden of Words, y su insigne Your Name o Kimi no na wa, como sea que la conozcan; ya sabrán qué esperarse en esta película, y ciertamente eso fue un impedimento en que disfrutara la mayoría de la película, como ya dije, la historia de Suzume es increíble, pero todo se ve degradado en el momento en el que conoce a Souta, quien la inicia en esta aventura increíble, bueno, no en el momento que lo conoce, aunque en parte sí, pero más cuando deciden darle una relación con él cuando es más rebuscado que cualquier inclusión LGBTQIA+ que condenan de ser forzada. La relación de Suzume y Souta sí fue forzada.
Digo todo esto al principio porque en una entrevista Makoto dijo que quería salirse de la fórmula de Your Name, de chico y chica se conocen y se enamoran, que quizo hacer algo diferente, donde no iba a haber ningún chico a la vista, donde no se tendría la necesidad de una relación amorosa, donde sería una chica quien sumergería a Suzume en toda esta aventura que cambió su vida por siempre, donde ni siquiera tendría que ser una chicha, porque dijo que llegó a considerar la opción de una persona no binaria, y leer eso fue como un pequeño abrazo cálido a mi alma; al final el estudio le rechazó todas sus opciones y le dijo que se apegara a su fórmula de siempre y no se pusiera a inventar nada. Eso duele, porque Makoto dijo que solo quería hacer una historia de personas superando cosas en su vida, donde no es necesario el romance, y le dijeron que no.
Are the Japanese that retrograde? I mean, the amount of movies that are existing where there is no generic boy-girl love relationship and are a total success are getting bigger and bigger, and right now I can only think of Brave, Frozen, Belle, Moana, Enchantment, Turning Red, most of them are from Disney, which doesn't matter, but they prove my point, the usual stories where the heterosexual romance is the center of the story stopped being relevant a very long time ago, and no matter if there is a very good story behind it, it's going to be something generic and boring at the end of it all, where only two neon people will say it's perfect and it should have always been like that, when only with the absence of that heterosexual relationship the story would be a thousand times better, not to say if there is inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community, then they would achieve something more than epic; And no, it's not that it's bad that there is a heterosexual relationship, it's that they don't even make an effort to give it coherence or sense, so much that they demand for the representation of LGBTQIA+ couples in the seventh art, when they have never accepted that most of the heterosexual couples in all audiovisual productions have always been forced, mediocre, meaningless, they have almost always been bad, very bad, and more and more they put less effort in doing good things.

O sea, la cantidad de películas que están existiendo donde no hay una relación amorosa genérica entre chico y chica y son un éxito total son cada vez mayores, y en este momento solo ppuedo pensar en Brave, Frozen, Belle, Moana, Encanto, Turning Red, la mayoría son de Disney, cosa que no importa, pero prueban mi punto, las historias de siempre donde el romance heterosexual es el centro de la historia dejaron de ser relevantes hace muchísimo tiempo, y sin importar que exista una muy buena historia detrás, va a ser algo génerico y aburrido al final de todo, donde solo gente dos neúronas dirá que es perfecto y que siempre debío ser así, cuando solo con la ausencia de esa relación heterosexual la historia sería mil veces mejor, sin decir si hay inclusión de la comunidad LGBTQIA+, ahí lograrían algo más que épico; y no, no es que está mal que haya una relación heterosexual, es que ya ni siquieran se esfuerzan en darle coherencia o sentido, tanto que exigen para la representación de parejas LGBTQIA+ en el séptimo arte, cuando nunca han aceptado que la mayoría de las parejas heterosexuales de todas las producciones audiovisuales de toda la vida han sido forzadas, mediocres, sin sentido, casi siempre han estado mal, muy mal, y cada vez más le ponen menos empeño en hacer cosas buenas.
Nothing new, the animation is amazing, the soundtrack even more amazing, like I said, I have already more than an hour listening to the song of the movie on loop and I can't get enough, it gives me more energy to keep insulting the people who said that if the movie had been a Girs Love, or even had any LGBTIQA+ character, as it would have been possible, they would have never seen it because they would have ruined their chance to identify with the characters and the story of the movie. It just triggers me to bury all those people alive and have them slowly die suffering for a long time.
Daijin was my favorite character, and I cried with his ending, he deserved better, he deserved so many better things. Daijin is the cat, I loved him, he's crazy, he was very funny, he made me happy his character, also, Suzume's aunt was amazing too, I loved and suffered her relationship with Suzume, get ready to cry a family trauma scene like you have no idea. And it's definitely that the movie would have been a thousand times better without any romance.
Nada nuevo, la animación es increíble, la banda sonora más increíble aún, como dije, tengo ya más de una hora escuchando la canción de la película en bucle y no me canso, me da más energía para seguir insultando a la gente que dijo que si la película hubiera sido un Girs Love, o si quiera hubiera tenido algún personaje LGBTIQA+, como hubiera sido posible, nunca la hubieran visto porque les habrían arruinado la posibilidad de identificarse con los personajes y la historia de la película. Es que me provoca enterrar a toda esa gente con vida y que se mueran lentamente sufriendo por mucho tiempo.
Daijin fue mi personaje favorito, y lloré con su final, merecía algo mejor, merecía muchas cosas mejores. Daijin es el gato, me encantó, está loco, fue muy divertido, me hizo feliz su personaje, además, la tía de Suzume estuvo increíble también, amé y sufrí su relación con Suzume, prepárense para llorar una escena de traumas familiares como no tienen idea. Y es que definitivamente la película hubiera sido mil veces mejor sin ningún tipo de romance.
No me he animado aún con los anime pero me han relatado de unas con temas interesantes. Nunca es tarde para comenzar.
De Makoto he visto "Weathering with you" la cual no conecté con la historia, tampoco le presté mucha atención y seguramente la vuela a ver; ahora con "Your Name" es todo lo contrario porque esa si que es una gran película, muy buena, la cual he visto varias veces.
Justamente cuando vi la de "Weathering" supe que en no debo esperar o tener grandes expectativas porque no creo que de vuelva a repetir lo que se hizo con Your Name, pero si quiero ver Suzume, creo que puede ser muy interesante.
Es muy buena, pero se nota que no dejaron que Makoto hiciera lo que quería, en Your Name fue muy bien utilizada la relación entre ellos dos, aquí apenas llega a ser un accidente que emborrona la historia y no deja que brille Suzume y su historial personal, que es lo verdaderamente importante, más allá de que la trama de las puertas y el mal de otro mundo está bien hecho, que todo se resuma a qué Suzume no quiera vivir en un mundo sin Saoto es algo demasiado superficial y sin sabe alguna. La vas a disfrutar, pero igual, sigue sin superar o siquiera estar a la altura de Your Name.
Hola, acabo de oir la cancion hermosa, y pegajosa, en mi caso veo todo tipo de peliculas siempre y cuando tenga un buen guion, el problema para mi no es la pareja y sus preferencias sexuales, si no que los personajes fluyan con la historia.
Tengo entendio que es del mismo director de la pelicula de "tu nombre" por lo que dices parece una trama simplista que solo se ve adornada con una animacion bellisima, tendria que verla para vincular mejor esas criticas que no te gustaron de la peli, pero ya se por donde van los tiros jejej.
