I hope you are all doing great today, I feel great today, and this time I want to share with you all a new review, I will tell you about a series that surely some of you will know, it is the series: You, it is on Netflix, and from the first chapter it puts you headlong into the twisted mind of Joe, a stalker and murderer who justifies all the atrocities he does in the name of “love”! Yes, you heard right... the way he excuses himself is disturbing, but at the same time, I don't know, there is something about him that catches you, weird, right? And when you think you've understood everything, boom! The series surprises you in the third season, it's my favorite season, Joe is no longer alone in his madness, but he has someone with him... who is just as bad or worse... together they go on a crazy trip to the world of serial killers, and I swear it's a roller coaster, I have to say that the vibe between Joe is one of the most interesting things in the series...
Their relationship is like watching two magnets of toxicity coming together, bringing out the worst in each other in an almost hypnotic way, you get glued watching them... it left me thinking a lot: how do we, as viewers, judge these characters? Could it be that we are too soft with Joe because we hear everything he thinks? The series uses a great narrative resource by letting us get into Joe's head... at first, it really hooks you, almost as if you were an accomplice to what he does... I myself found myself empathizing with him, even though he did some unforgivable things! It's a very fine line, isn't it? That closeness to a character so morally rotten leaves you wondering where the limit is between understanding and justifying what someone does.

Espero que hoy se encuentren súper bien, yo hoy me siento genial, y en esta ocasión quiero compartir con todos ustedes una nueva reseña, les hablaré de una serie que seguramente algunos conocerán, se trata de la serie: You, está en Netflix, y desde el primer capítulo te mete de cabeza en la mente retorcida de Joe, un acosador y asesino que justifica todas las barbaridades que hace ¡en nombre del “amor”! sí, escucharon bien.. la forma en que se excusa a sí mismo es perturbadora, pero a la vez, no sé, tiene algo que te atrapa, ¿raro, no? Y cuando piensas que ya entendiste todo, ¡pum!, la serie te sorprende en la tercera temporada, es mi temporada favorita, Joe ya no está solo en su locura, sino que tiene a alguien con el.. que está igual o peor.. juntos se mandan a un viaje demencial al mundo de los asesinos en serie, y les juro que es una montaña rusa, tengo que decir que la onda entre Joe es de lo más interesante de la serie..
Su relación es como ver dos imanes de toxicidad juntándose, sacando lo peor de cada uno de una manera casi hipnótica, te quedás pegado viéndolos.. a mí me dejó pensando un montón: ¿cómo hacemos nosotros, como espectadores, para juzgar a estos personajes? ¿Será que somos muy blandos con Joe porque escuchamos todo lo que piensa? La serie usa un recurso narrativo genial al dejarnos entrar en la cabeza de Joe.. al principio, eso te engancha de verdad, casi como si fueras cómplice de lo que hace.. yo mismo me encontré empatizando con él, ¡aunque hacía unas cosas imperdonables! Es una línea muy fina, ¿verdad?, esa cercanía con un personaje tan podrido moralmente, te deja pensando dónde está el límite entre entender y justificar lo que hace alguien.
Something that really blew my mind was how the series hits hard at superficial people, especially in certain environments... in the third season, the series shows you without a filter how plastic people are in the American suburbs, you know? It's as if those perfect photos we see on social media were a mirror of the same false and obsessive thing that happens to Joe in his head, and mind you, this is not just a detail there in the background, it is a central theme, it made me think a lot about how we obsess today with appearances and what we show on the Internet... I mean, think about it for a moment, how many times do you stay scrolling through an Instagram everything perfect and forget about real life, which is chaos and not perfect at all? This series shows you that contradiction in a way that is creepy, but at the same time it is super real.. now, let's be honest, the series is not perfect.. although it catches you so much that you can't wait to see another episode, I ended up watching episode after episode until I forgot the sun existed), there is something repetitive that begins to be noticed, especially in the last seasons..
It is like you realize that there is a formula: something happens, someone dies, the problem is solved, and boom!, it all repeats itself again, there comes a point where you feel like déjà vu, and you might wonder if the writers ran out of ideas.. but, despite the fact that you already know more or less where this is going, the series continues to hook you because the characters are super well done and because they always leave you thinking about whether what they do is right or wrong.. I remember that when I started watching it, I was totally hooked by how strange and attractive Joe was, there was something magnetic about his way of seeing things. things, even though you knew he was a complete lunatic, it's like when you get hooked on an antihero from one of those novels, that even though the things he does scare you, you can't help but admire how deep his internal problems are... but then, when Love appears and crosses paths with Joe's world, everything gets even more complicated, their relationship is toxic to scary levels... it's hard not to get hooked on the drama, wondering how far they will go and what more twisted excuse they will come up with... very crazy.
Algo que me voló la cabeza de verdad fue cómo la serie le pega duro a la gente superficial, sobre todo en ciertos ambientes.. en la tercera temporada, la serie te muestra sin filtro lo plásticos que son en los suburbios gringos, ¿entienden? Es como si esas fotos perfectas que vemos en redes sociales fueran un espejo de lo mismo falso y obsesivo que le pasa a Joe en su cabeza, y ojo, esto no es solo un detalle ahí de fondo, es un tema central, a mí me dejó pensando un montón en cómo nos obsesionamos hoy en día con las apariencias y con lo que mostramos en internet.. o sea, piensen un toque, ¿cuántas veces te quedás scrolleando un Instagram todo perfecto y te olvidas de la vida real, que es un caos y para nada perfecta? Esta serie te muestra esa contradicción de una forma que da cosita, pero a la vez es súper real.. ahora, seamos honestos, la serie no es perfecta.. si bien te atrapa que no veas la hora de ver otro capítulo, yo me terminé viendo episodio tras episodio hasta olvidarme de que existía el sol), hay algo repetitivo que se empieza a notar, sobre todo en las últimas temporadas..
Como que te das cuenta de que hay una fórmula: pasa algo, alguien muere, se soluciona el problema, y ¡pum!, se repite todo de nuevo, llega un punto en que sentís como un déjà vu, y capaz te preguntas si a los guionistas se les acabaron las ideas.. pero, a pesar de que ya sabes más o menos por dónde va la cosa, la serie te sigue enganchando porque los personajes están súper bien hechos y porque siempre te dejan pensando en si lo que hacen está bien o mal.. me acuerdo que cuando empecé a verla, quedé atrapadísimo con lo raro y atractivo que era Joe, tenía algo como magnético su forma de ver las cosas, aunque sabías que era un loco de remate, es como cuando te enganchas con un antihéroe de esos de novela, que aunque te den miedo las cosas que hace, no puedes evitar admirar lo profundo que son sus problemas internos.. pero después, cuando aparece Love y se cruza con el mundo de Joe, todo se pone aún más complicado, la relación de ellos dos es tóxica a niveles que dan miedo.. es difícil no engancharse con el drama, preguntándote hasta dónde van a llegar y qué excusa más retorcida se van a inventar.. muy loco.
There's also a deeper social message tucked in there in the story that really resonated with me... the series isn't just about a crazy killer, no, no, it's also a critique of how today's society handles issues like obsession, harassment, and toxic relationships. It made me think a lot about how these things are so present in the world we live in... the way they show social media and the perfect lives of people in the suburbs is like a strong critique of our time, making the series reach you from many sides. It's not just about shocking for the sake of shocking, it has many layers and social critiques that are super current.
Obviously, opinions about the seasons vary a lot among fans, and I totally understand that.. there are those who defend the first one to the death because it was the one that started everything and because of how they present Joe's character, which at that time was something new and left you frozen, others, like me, think that the second and third seasons add more complexity to the plot and the characters.. how Joe escalates in his madness and the arrival of Love as his partner in crime take the series to another level, just as disturbing but even more captivating.. it happened to me that I changed my mind as I progressed in the series, I realized that what began as a direct story about a dangerous guy had become a narrative with many faces about power, love and the dark side of modern society..
I'm not going to lie to you, the series has moments that leave you really uncomfortable, eh, there are scenes so disturbing that they left me thinking for a long time after watching them, but that is precisely what makes it unforgettable.. it is a series that does not leave you alone, it keeps you thinking, guessing and it forces you to look at those uncomfortable truths that lurk beneath what we think is normal.. there's like an addictive danger in that, a thrill of being drawn into a world that mirrors our own in such a disturbing way.
También hay un mensaje social más profundo metido ahí en la historia que a mí me pegó.. la serie no es solo de un loco asesino, no, no, es también una crítica a cómo la sociedad de hoy maneja temas como la obsesión, el acoso y las relaciones tóxicas, a mí me dejó pensando un montón en cómo estas cosas están tan presentes en el mundo en que vivimos.. la forma en que muestran las redes sociales y esas vidas perfectas de la gente de los suburbios es como una crítica fuerte a nuestra época, haciendo que la serie te llegue por muchos lados, no es solo para escandalizar por escandalizar, tiene muchas capas y críticas sociales que son súper actuales.
Obvio, las opiniones de las temporadas varían un montón entre los fans, y lo entiendo totalmente.. hay quienes defienden la primera a muerte porque fue la que empezó todo y por cómo presentan al personaje de Joe, que en ese momento era algo nuevo y te dejaba helado, otros, como yo, pensamos que la segunda y la tercera temporada le meten más complejidad a la trama y a los personajes.. cómo Joe va escalando en sus locuras y la llegada de Love como su compañera de crimen llevan la serie a otro nivel, igual de perturbador pero más atrapante todavía.. a mí me pasó que fui cambiando de opinión a medida que avanzaba en la serie, me di cuenta de que lo que empezó como una historia directa sobre un tipo peligroso se había convertido en una narrativa con muchas caras sobre el poder, el amor y el lado oscuro de la sociedad moderna..
No les voy a mentir, la serie tiene momentos que te dejan re incómodo, eh, hay escenas tan perturbadoras que me dejaron pensando un rato largo después de verlas, pero justo eso es lo que la hace inolvidable.. es una serie que no te deja tranquilo, te mantiene pensando, adivinando y te obliga a mirar esas verdades incómodas que se esconden debajo de lo que creemos que es normal.. hay como un peligro adictivo en eso, una emoción de que te arrastren a un mundo que refleja el nuestro de una manera tan inquietante.
If you like series that get into the darkest parts of people, but with a vibe, with psychology and social criticism, give it a chance... it's not just a thriller to pass the time, no, no, it's like diving head first into how complicated obsession, identity and all those masks we put on are, but be prepared because you're going to leave there with more questions than answers about what the hell true love is and if some of the things we do can be forgiven... I give this series an 8.5 out of 10.
The story grabs you, the characters are complex and the themes leave you thinking a lot, it exceeded my expectations, although sometimes the plot is repeated a bit... it's one of those series that give you something to talk about and make you rethink your own ideas about what's right, what's wrong and how real everything is in this digital age... being honest, isn't that what makes a good story worth it? Have you ever seen something that makes you question everything you thought you knew about love, obsession, and that facade of perfection we all show? Si te gustan las series que se meten en lo más oscuro de la gente, pero con onda, con psicología y crítica social, dale una oportunidad.. no es solo un thriller para pasar el rato, no, no, es como sumergirte de cabeza en lo complicado que es la obsesión, la identidad y todas esas máscaras que nos ponemos, eso sí, prepárate porque vas a salir de ahí con más preguntas que respuestas sobre qué carajo es el amor de verdad y si algunas cosas que hacemos tienen perdón.. le doy a esta serie un 8.5 de 10.
La historia te atrapa, los personajes son complejos y los temas te dejan pensando un montón, superó mis expectativas, aunque a veces se repita un poco la trama.. es de esas series que te dan tema de conversación y te hacen repensar tus propias ideas sobre lo que está bien, lo que está mal y qué tan real es todo en esta era digital.. siendo sinceros, ¿no es eso lo que hace que una buena historia valga la pena? ¿Alguna vez viste algo que te haga cuestionar todo lo que creías saber sobre el amor, la obsesión y esa fachada de perfección que todos mostramos?
