Dracula 1992 Review

There are movies that we watch once, but there are also movies that make you have to watch such a movie at least once a year.
One of them is Dracula.
A film by Francis Ford Coppola from 1992.

The film captivates me with its unusual atmosphere for nearly 20 years and I still think that this work is almost perfect, although very different from the original book.

The plot focuses on a young Jonthan Harker who is tasked with finalizing a deal with a wealthy count who has bought several properties in London, a company that sells real estate sends Jonathan to sign the documents and return.

The Count lives in Transylvania in distant Romania, so the journey takes place in a dark environment, so dark that no one dreams of leaving after dark.

Jonathan comes to Romania and this is where the nightmare begins when he mentions that he wants to go to Count Dracula.

The film is a beautiful example that loneliness is the worst enemy even for the great Dracula, who mourns all his lifetime for his beloved, wishing she would come back to love him again.
Dracula is a beautiful story of trying to redeem his sins because despite the fact that Dracula was a cruel warrior, he only became a monster when his beloved died, he cannot wait for his return.

Balance between waking and sleeping, between sick imagination and tangible.

Some may condemn Dracula, but it was really depression and the desire to find a way to restore his beloved that pushed him to become a vampire.

Jonathan entering Dracula's castle crosses the gates of humanity, and the first encounter with the demonic Count is terrifying.
The film is also a beautiful story about overcoming all adversities and being happy.

When Dracula decides to come to London, he has one goal in finding Jonathan's beloved as she is identical to his beloved.

Kilar's beautiful music would even hypnotize the viewer, like Count Dracula, to watch a spectacle in which it even manifests a new face.

Fighting evil is not easy here, evil has many pitfalls and it is not as bad as everyone thinks are just looking for what everyone is looking for - love.

Dracula from 1992 is a new interpretation of the book by Bram Stoker of the same title, but many things and the narrative itself have been changed for the film.

I think that this is the best film adaptation and the most interesting vampire creation in the history of cinema, fabulous scenery only enhances the general gothic outline.

Many of the later adaptations have tried a similar style, but this 1992 movie is considered to remind viewers that a vampire can be murderous but also bloody lonely, he can be handsome, but also looking for what is unreal.

A beautiful movie worth watching, and Garry Oldman's creation is, in my opinion, one of the best. Of course there are other vampire movies, but here we have this fairy tale, full of darkness and the harsh atmosphere of Victorian times (which I love). vampires and the best movie about Dracula

Sort:

Una obra maestra de lo clásico y de lo sobrenatural, magnífica película para la elección toda una obra para los inicios de ese cine no convencional.
A masterpiece of the classic and the supernatural, a magnificent film for the election, a work of art for the beginnings of unconventional cinema.

Thank you for the comment :) I think that the role of Garry Oldman is outstanding here, yet in the movie Leon showed a great creation. These two films are very different and like a chameleon Oldman changes to play the best role :)
