Estoy muy feliz de subir mi primera reseña y siento que hablar de esta serie es la mejor forma de empezar, cabe acotar que van a haber muchos spoilers, así que si no la has visto y no quieres saber qué va a pasar, te recomiendo que primero la veas y luego vengas a leer este post ¡Comencemos!
Primero que nada, quiero resaltar que soy FANÁTICO de las series y películas de época, probablemente sea porque cuando estaba pequeño vi “Orgullo y prejuicio” con mi mamá y quedé fascinado o porque yo siento que en alguna vida pasada fui parte de la realeza, pero cada producción que sale relacionada con este tema siempre quiero verla. Obviamente, soy súper fan de Bridgerton, sus dos temporadas me encantan (ya luego haré una reseña sobre esta serie), así que cuando anunciaron este spin-off como precuela en todo este universo, sabía que sí o sí debía verla y déjenme decirle que en una palabra esta serie podría definirla como ¡ESPECTACULAR!

I'm very happy to upload my first review and I feel that talking about this series is the best way to start, it should be noted that there are going to be many spoilers, so if you haven't seen it and don't want to know what's going to happen, I recommend you to watch it first and then come to read this post Let's start!
First of all, I want to highlight that I am a FAN of period series and movies, it's probably because when I was little I watched "Pride and Prejudice" with my mom and I was fascinated or because I feel that in some past life I was part of royalty, but every production that comes out related to this theme I always want to watch it. Obviously, I'm a super fan of Bridgerton, I love its two seasons (I'll review this series later), so when they announced this spin-off as a prequel in this whole universe, I knew I had to watch it and let me tell you that in one word this series could be defined as SPECTACULAR!
El formato me parece sumamente apropiado, que sean seis episodios de larga duración es muy bueno porque es fácil de consumir. El cast me parece impecable, todos los actores que interpretan versiones jóvenes de los personajes que ya conocemos fue sumamente acertada, el parecido entre la versión joven y adulta de la reina Charlotte es impresionante, es como si literalmente hubieran viajado al pasado, lo mismo con los personajes de Brimsley, Lady Danbury y de Violet Ledger.
The format seems to me extremely appropriate, six long episodes is very good because it is easy to consume. The cast seems to me impeccable, all the actors playing young versions of the characters we already know was extremely accurate, the resemblance between the young and adult version of Queen Charlotte is impressive, it is as if they had literally traveled back in time, the same with the characters of Brimsley, Lady Danbury and Violet Ledger.
Pude notar la diferencia entre las tramas de esta serie y de las temporadas de Bridgerton, pues en Bridgerton nos enfocamos en un romance cada temporada, en la presentación a la sociedad y los chismes de Lady Whistledown, sin embargo, aquí hablamos de una historia de amor central y la evolución de este amor, además de la gran crítica social en cuanto al racismo y la desigualdad, que para ese entonces, era sumamente fuerte. Me gustó mucho como abordaron todos los temas, no los explotaron ni les faltó, siento que todo estuvo sumamente equilibrado. La evolución del amor entre Charlotte y George es simplemente magnífica, la evolución y el temple de Lady Danbury estuvo muy bien estructurado y me encantó que nos dieran el origen de este personaje tan importante en este universo.
I could notice the difference between the plots of this series and the Bridgerton seasons, because in Bridgerton we focused on a romance each season, in the presentation to society and the gossip of Lady Whistledown, however, here we talk about a central love story and the evolution of this love, in addition to the great social criticism regarding racism and inequality, which for that time, was extremely strong. I really liked how they addressed all the issues, they didn't exploit them nor did they lack them, I feel that everything was extremely balanced. The evolution of the love between Charlotte and George is simply magnificent, the evolution and temper of Lady Danbury was very well structured and I loved that they gave us the origin of this character so important in this universe.
Shonda Rimes hizo un trabajo magnífico, sabe muy bien cómo manejar este tipo de series y lo hace espectacular, no tengo ninguna queja en cuanto a producción, dirección y guion. El soundtrack me pareció una maravilla, tomando en cuenta la fórmula que utiliza Bridgerton de utilizar canciones pop actuales y convertirlas en melodías clásicas de época, en esta producción no fue la excepción y pude notar que utilizaron solamente canciones de mujeres de raza negra (Beyonce, Alicia Keys y Whitney Houston), está de más agregar que ¡ME ENCANTÓ! Díganme que no fue solo a mí que se me erizó la piel cada que escuchaba esas melodías.
Shonda Rimes did a magnificent job, she knows very well how to handle this kind of series and she does it spectacularly, I have no complaints in terms of production, direction and script. I thought the soundtrack was wonderful, taking into account Bridgerton's formula of using current pop songs and turning them into classic period melodies, this production was no exception and I could notice that they only used songs by black women (Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Whitney Houston), needless to say that I LOVED it! Tell me it wasn't just me that got my skin crawling every time I heard those tunes.
Los diálogos, muy al estilo de Bridgerton, nos regalaron otra ICÓNICA declaración de amor, cuando George le confiesa su amor a Charlotte, es un diálogo que quedó grabado en mi mente y corazón. Las actuaciones son impecables, la química entre los protagonistas es tan fuerte que te hace pensar si son pareja en la vida real. La actitud despiadada de la madre de George y sus interacciones con Lady Danbury es algo que disfruté muchísimo, sin duda ¡Unos actores muy buenos!
The dialogues, very much in Bridgerton's style, gave us another ICONIC declaration of love, when George confesses his love to Charlotte, it is a dialogue that remained engraved in my mind and heart. The performances are impeccable, the chemistry between the leads is so strong that it makes you wonder if they are a couple in real life. The ruthless attitude of George's mother and her interactions with Lady Danbury is something I enjoyed very much, without a doubt, very good actors!
Otra cosa que debo mencionar que me pareció un espectáculo total fue la inclusión de personajes LGBT en esta serie, el cual fue el romance de Brimsley y Reynolds, cosa que le faltó a Bridgerton (o al menos lo medio abordaron en la primera temporada pero luego abandonaron por completo dicha idea). Entiendo que es un escándalo ese tipo de romances en producciones de época, por el contexto social e histórico de aquellos años, pero siempre es refrescante ver este tipo de “amores prohibidos” y sin duda, aquí lo ejecutaron maravillosamente, no se vio forzado, los actores tenían muy buena química entre ellos y como espectador quería ver más de ellos cuando no aparecían en pantalla.
Another thing I should mention that I found a total spectacle was the inclusion of LGBT characters in this series, which was the romance of Brimsley and Reynolds, something that Bridgerton lacked (or at least they half-approached it in the first season but then completely abandoned the idea). I understand that it is a scandal that kind of romances in period productions, because of the social and historical context of those years, but it is always refreshing to see this kind of "forbidden loves" and without a doubt, here they executed it wonderfully, it did not look forced, the actors had very good chemistry between them and as a viewer I wanted to see more of them when they did not appear on screen.
Sin lugar a dudas, es una serie que me atrapó de principio a fin, quedé fascinado en todos los aspectos y se convirtió en una de mis series favoritas (sí, incluso más que Bridgerton). Obviamente lloré a mares con el final, lloré a mares con esa escena que resume perfectamente el amor entre Charlotte y George, la secuencia de los personajes actuales con los personajes jóvenes y el “No saltaste ese muro”, le arrancó lágrimas a todo el mundo, así como la escena de Brimsley bailando solo ¡Un final espectacular!
Undoubtedly, it is a series that caught me from beginning to end, I was fascinated in every aspect and it became one of my favorite series (yes, even more than Bridgerton). Obviously I cried my eyes out with the ending, I cried my eyes out with that scene that perfectly sums up the love between Charlotte and George, the sequence of the current characters with the young characters and the "You didn't jump that wall", it brought tears to everyone's eyes, as well as the scene of Brimsley dancing alone, a spectacular ending!
Lo único que no me gustó es que no explicaron qué sucedió con Reynolds, dejaron eso al aire en lugar de darle un cierre a esa historia, pero bueno, es algo minúsculo en comparación a lo grandiosa que fue la serie en general. Mi calificación final es 9.9/10

The only thing I didn't like is that they didn't explain what happened to Reynolds, they left that up in the air instead of giving closure to that story, but hey, it's minuscule compared to how great the series was overall. My final rating is 9.9/10

Hola, es bueno encontrar otro fan de las producciones de época. Como fan de Los Bridgerton también espere esta serie con muchas ganas. La verdad es que supero mis expectativas, creo que estuvo muy bien resuelta y me encanto conocer el origen de este romance, la historia de Lady Danbury (también me dio tristeza su amor fallido) y ver a una Violet adolescente. Se me partió el corazón con la escena final, fue muy conmovedora. Amo el soundtrack de esta serie, como toman canciones actuales y las trasforman para hacerlas parecer clásicas, la ambientación y los vestuarios fueron geniales. Una gran producción.
