The Regime [The english version]

#MAX, the new streaming platform of Warner's ecosystem containing several brands such as #HBO, today premiered The Regime, whose main attraction is on the acting side, the multi-award winning and acclaimed British actress Kate Winslet, and on the technical side, the Showrunner of a hit like Succesion.

Take:

Every Sunday there will be a new episode, as #HBO usually does with its outstanding series. The Regime, although it is too early to tell, is presented as a satire, but it is hosting in the first episode some embers of suspense.

Elena Vergham is the "Chancellor" of a Central European country. A country that is primarily a Cobalt power, there has been an incident with miners and that has revolutionized the government a bit. The Chancellor has been threatened with Anthrax and her team keeps her isolated, permanently protected and intends to disengage her from her duties and take away the power of her decisions. Elena is a paranoid woman (although the paranoia seems to be inoculated), which makes her very vulnerable to influence and flattery. She is charismatic and strong-willed, although it is too early to say so (just the first episode), authoritarian... and although it may seem contradictory, she is shown as a romantic person...

Take:

Evidently Kate is very comfortable in the role, for her it is not much of a problem to demonstrate power, authority, but the hesitations resulting from fear, insecurity, threats of power, I think are something new for her, but as it could not be otherwise, she is more than outstanding in the role.

On the other hand, there are important details that should be highlighted, the great foreign cast (especially European), the grandiloquence of the stage, but that is minimized with the simplicity of the shots, the color palette, reflect a cold environment and a new system of government that wants to ride on old ideas, therefore, the color palette incites the old, as well as the soundtrack, loaded with strings and treble reminiscent of Italy and the German countryside.

In the subtext you can feel the struggle for power, foreign ambition, the conspiracy of trusted teams and the loneliness that ultimately lies at the pinnacle of power, where you almost never know who to trust.

Take:

A magnificent proposal, as it could not be otherwise from the hands of #HBO and with the great seal of quality that gives the Oscar winner Kate Winslet.
