I declare myself a fan of animated series, especially those of black humor, from time to time I come across a gem of this type. Since a few days ago we have internet again and although sometimes it fails, it is much better than not having it at all, so we have given ourselves the task of rummaging through netflix to see if we find something worth watching, beyond just hanging out. A few days ago my boyfriend started watching an animated series called F is for family, after watching several episodes he told me "you have to watch this series, you'll like it", he knows my type of humor and also knows that I love series set in other eras and this one takes place in the 70s. From the first moment the series caught me, first of all I tell you that if you are offended by racism, machismo, homophobia and vulgar language, this series is not for you.
Cabe destacar que no apoyo ninguna de esas posturas retrogradas jajaja pero es parte del humor y debo decir que se vuelve un poco adictivo reírse de estos temas "prohibidos" 😂 En fin, la serie se basa en una familia de clase media de la década de los 70, cada personaje tiene su personalidad muy bien moldeada, el padre Frank Murphy (y nótese lo brillante de este apellido 😂) es un veterano de guerra que tuvo que abandonar su sueño de ser piloto porque su novia salió embarazada, este hecho es algo que no logra superar y lo hace sentir bastante fracasado, podemos verlo lleno de ira, desmotivado y lo peor es que proyecta su fracaso en el resto de su familia aunque bueno, pensándolo bien, eso no es lo peor jajaja lo peor es que su nivel de machismo llega a la estratosfera, pero eso lo hablaremos más adelante 😂

Luego tenemos a la madre, Sue Murphy, una ama de casa que tenía un futuro bastante prometedor el cual fue de igual manera, frustrado por el nacimiento de su primer hijo. Podemos verla deprimida por no haber logrado nada en su vida aparte de ser ama de casa y decide emprender en una compañía de venta de envases plásticos llamado Plast-a-ware 😂 sí, como tupperware. La relación con su esposo es bastante inestable, hay amor de pareja, pero el machismo e irritabilidad de Frank hace que Sue odie muchas veces la vida que eligió junto a el. So sad.
Then we have the mother, Sue Murphy, a housewife who had a fairly promising future which was likewise, thwarted by the birth of her first child. We can see her depressed for not having achieved anything in her life apart from being a housewife and she decides to undertake in a company selling plastic containers called Plast-a-ware 😂 yes, like tupperware. The relationship with her husband is quite unstable, there is couple love, but Frank's machismo and irritability makes Sue hate many times the life she chose together with him. So sad.
El primogénito es Kevin Murphy, que aunque tiene 14 años actúa como un chico mayor, tiene una banda de rock y está en su etapa de rebeldía, sobre todo porque los problemas familiares lo han llevado a buscar un escape, consume drogas y heredó la personalidad sumamente irritable de su padre, debido a esto ambos personajes chocan entre sí y podemos ver batallas de insultos que luego terminan en reconciliación (muchas veces forzada jaja)

La segunda bendición es Bill Murphy, tiene 11 años y aunque al inicio de la serie lo vemos como un chico bastante dulce, podemos observar una transición originada por los problemas familiares (por supuesto) y el constante bullying que recibe de parte del resto del mundo (incluyendo su padre) ya que no es el prototipo de "hombre" que se espera, Bill empieza a robar, a insultar y a odiar a su padre, poco a poco se parece más a su hermano mayor y acá podemos ver como una familia altamente disfuncional afecta la estabilidad mental de los niños poco a poco.

Por último tienemos a Maureen Murphy, una niña atípica de 8 o 9 años que ama la ciencia, pero por el mismo machismo de sus padres y de la época en la cual nació, sus sueños son pisoteados porque "las niñas deben hacer cosas de niñas" incluso hay una escena en la cual Maureen es llevada con el director de su colegio por haber sacado la máxima nota en un examen y como es una niña eso es imposible así que asumen que hizo trampa. De los tres hijos ella es la única a la cual su papá suele demostrar algo de cariño, pero probablemente todo cambie con la llegada de un nuevo bebé a la familia, esto no se los puedo asegurar aún porque no he llegado a esa parte jajaja
Finally we have Maureen Murphy, an atypical girl of 8 or 9 years old who loves science, but because of the same machismo of her parents and the time in which she was born, her dreams are trampled because "girls should do girl things" there is even a scene in which Maureen is taken to the principal of her school for getting the highest score on an exam and as she is a girl that is impossible so they assume that she cheated. Of the three children she is the only one to whom her dad usually shows some affection, but probably everything will change with the arrival of a new baby to the family, this I can't assure you yet because I haven't gotten to that part hahaha.
Esta serie animada esta genial, les prometo que se van a reír más de lo que esperan, la trama está bien pensada y repito, si son sensibles a temas tabú mejor no la vean. Esta familia es 100% disfuncional y creanme que le hacen honor a su apellido 😂 te hacen pensar que por fin las cosas van a mejorar, pero siempre les termina sucediendo alguna desgracia. Yo solo espero que el creador no se haya inspirado en su vida personal para crearla porque eso me haría compadecerlo demasiado jajaja Cuéntame en los comentarios si ya viste esta serie y que tal te pareció 😎 Ah por cierto el nombre "F is for family" le queda muy bien porque como familia definitivamente tienen una F jajaja
This animated series is great, I promise you will laugh more than you expect, the plot is well thought out and I repeat, if you are sensitive to taboo topics better not watch it. This family is 100% dysfunctional and believe me they live up to their last name 😂 they make you think that finally things are going to get better, but they always end up with some misfortune. Hey! Primera vez que leo algo referente a esta serie animada, aunque si te soy sincera no soy muy fan 😅 Creo que la única serie animada con humor negro que me ha gustado, es "Los Simpson", y las primeras temporadas. De igual forma le echaré un vistazo a ver qué tal..
Sabes que yo no soy muy fan de las series así groseras, de hecho no me gusta South Park, pero esta está muy buena. F is for family es buena desde el primer capítulo así que si te lanzas el experimento me cuentas a ver que tal.
Voy a darle una mirada, de este tipo de series animadas con humor negro y enfocada a publico adulto yo veía era South Park, pero hace muchos años. Se que hay otras que me han recomendado pero me aleje de todo tipo de producto animado y no las he visto

Aunque tiene una trama a la que no quisiera verla ni de cerca en mi familia, sería bueno verla para eso mismo, tomar nota de que no hacer.

Suena buenísima, no se porqué me imagino que es como una mezcla entre Married with children y King of the hill, e incluso unas cosas me recordaron un poco a Daría. Voy a echarle un vistazo porque por suerte está en Netflix.

Tiene buena trama enfrentada a la realidad de hoy en día donde muchas dd estas cosas siguen vigentes. La constante es que los problemas familiares terminaron afectando notablemente a los hijos lo cual es bastante triste.
