That's what stuck to me the most about the movie. The film makes you ponder whether it is leaving that's actually more valuable than staying. The ending was something unexpected too haha. I was hoping he would really stay and have a stable life in Belgium
It is something really peculiar and very eye-catching. The focal point of the plot is that protection is given up for happiness. I can say this, this is what I perceived. I'm glad you saw it and had the same thought as me. : 3
