Las peliculas en donde la trama gira alrededor de un perro, son mi placer culposo, de verdad me gustan mucho, por lo que tal vez mi percepción de la pelicula se vea un poco afectada por esto, y aunque creo que tiene muchos errores en su trama, principalmente porque no vemos a los personajes vencer las adversidades o su aventura en la selva no es lo suficientemente llena de adrenalina, me compraron con el desarrollo de Arthur, pues vemos lo complicada que fue su vida.
Movies where the plot revolves around a dog are my guilty pleasure, I really like them a lot, so maybe my perception of the movie is a little affected by this, and although I think it has many errors in its plot, mainly because we do not see the characters overcome adversity or their adventure in the jungle is not adrenaline-filled enough, I was bought with the development of Arthur, since we see how complicated his life was.
Entrando ya en materia, la historia comienza con Mikael Lindnord, interpretado por Mark Wahlberg, quien es el capitán de un equipo de atletismo, y aunque estaba en su mejor momento, por sus decisiones, su equipo termina enclavado en una sección pantanosa, donde es casi imposible avanzar, arruinando así su posibilidad de victoria. Luego lo vemos unos años después, ya con familia, pero este nunca sentó cabeza al tener esa derrota en la memoria, por lo que intentará volver a competir, para poder seguir adelante.

Al intentar rehacer nuevamente un equipo competente para volver a luchar por el campeonato mundial, vemos las dificultades que se le presentan al ser considerado como un perdedor, pero aquí empieza el pobre desarrollo de los personajes y sus vivencias en la aventura, pues vemos todo relativamente sencillo, pues tanto Olivia como Leo se unen muy fácilmente, así como vemos que la misma vida de Mikael no tiene ningún problema aparente por su toma de decisiones.
When trying to rebuild a competent team again to fight for the world championship again, we see the difficulties that arise from being considered a loser, but here begins the poor development of the characters and their experiences in the adventure, since we see everything relatively simple, since both Olivia and Leo come together very easily, just as we see that Mikael's life itself has no apparent problem due to his decision-making.
Mientras sucede esto, vemos la vida de Arthur en las calles de República Dominicana, así como el maltrato y todo lo malo que viven los animales en este tipo de locaciones. En uno de los puntos de control, se une el destino de los protagonistas, ya que Arthur los persigue en la travesia, incluso llegando a salvarle la vida a uno de ellos, pero más allá de la escena previa a la prueba de los kayaks, no vemos realmente como forman esa relación tan fuerte con el can, por lo que uno de los factores principales de la cinta queda algo huérfano.

Las locaciones pienso que son lo mejor de la cinta, la fotografía, los planos e iluminación están muy bien pensadas, teniendo una buena capacidad de inmersión, pero más allá de la eventualidad de la tirolesa o la enfermedad de Leo, no se explora realmente la capacidad de superar el dolor cuando somos exigidos al máximo, me hubiera gustado que explorarán un poco más este aspecto, por lo que al final se torna muy predecible, sabiendo el resultado final antes de que desarrollarán cada problemática.

I think the locations are the best of the film, the photography, the shots and lighting are very well thought out, having a good capacity for immersion, but beyond the eventuality of the zip line or Leo's illness, the story is not really explored. ability to overcome pain when we are pushed to the maximum, I would have liked them to explore this aspect a little more, so in the end it becomes very predictable, knowing the final result before they develop each problem.
Ya por último, tengo que resaltar el trabajo de adiestramiento de los canes de la película, siempre me ha pareció increíble la capacidad actoral de los mismos, pero justamente aquí creo que esta otra de las debilidades de la cinta, pues siento que al tener algunos otros problemas en la historia, intentan manipular un poco al espectador mediante el dilema de los animales, aunque el mensaje que tiene me parece excelente.
Finally, I have to highlight the work of training the dogs in the film, their acting ability has always seemed incredible to me, but right here I think this is another of the film's weaknesses, because I feel that having some other problems in the story, they try to manipulate the viewer a little through the animals' dilemma, although the message it has seems excellent to me.
En conclusión, es una película buena, con sus cosas malas también, pero no me aburrí en ningún momento, por lo que la recomendaría sin ningún problema, y más allá del papel de los actores, siento que el perro actor llamado Ukai fue quien se llevó los reflectores. Otra cosa que también me gustó fue la historia real detrás de la película, pues Arthur fue un perro ecuatoriano quien logró completar la travesia junto a quien sería su posterior dueño, logrando así un hogar feliz donde viviría hasta el final de sus días en el 2020 posterior a sufrir un tumor en la espalda, inspirando a muchas otras personas que crearon una fundación para ayudar a muchos otros perritos en Ecuador.
In conclusion, it is a good movie, with its bad things too, but I never got bored, so I would recommend it without any problem, and beyond the role of the actors, I feel that the dog actor named Ukai, was the one who stole the spotlight. Another thing that I also liked was the real story behind the film, since Arthur was an Ecuadorian dog who managed to complete the journey with his future owner, thus achieving a happy home where he would live until the end of his days in 2020, after suffering a tumor in his back, inspiring many other people who created a foundation to help many other dogs in Ecuador.
