Personally I loved the central theme of this series and also how it was treated, every episode grabs you for every second and this can't be said very often, so that's a big point in its favor. The characters are great, each one did an amazing job, our main character makes us sympathize with him, a man full of grief for a regrettable loss, wishing to have some peace of mind inside his own mind, a place he is completely unaware of and in which he may find us safe at all.

Let's talk about the film and its rhythm, at first I was a little shocked because it shows us a scene of disrespect and I thought they were only going to be this kind of scenes for morbid but if it has its importance for the plot of the story, I mean that the rhythm was good and introduces you little by little to the things that happen, something I want to admit is that their scenes are very good in the fact that in a way cause you fear and a strange feeling.

Well, those who have ever listened to the Motown mega-hit, fully authored by Stevie Wonder "Superstition", will know that the rhythm, from the very beginning of the song is completely addictive, and irresistible. Similarly, Insecure, a series brought to light by HBO in 2016, fulfils that premise of being so addictive and well produced, that the most common and everyday events; such as waking up, getting out of bed, standing in front of the bathroom mirror and talking to yourself, is a work of art worthy of admiration and applause. Needless to say, this somewhat superficial assessment of the series is only a scratch on the surface of the comedy/drama created by Issa Rae, who is also the writer of many episodes and the protagonist; yes, a woman, black and with an undeniable talent for acting.

This film crossed off most things on the stereotypical "things to expect from a Kdrama" list. This isn't in any way negative. It has its normal martial arts action scenes, some overly dramatic characters, a dashing group of young men and of course romance. I don't think I've ever seen one without a hint of romance. The entire story revolves around a magic spell that is used for moving souls from one body to another and the way it affects the characters, basically. The name of the spell is conveniently alchemy of souls too but I think the title suits the film perfectly.

In recent years we have seen that Disney has dedicated itself to making the Live Action of its most famous films, currently we have a large number of them, some loved others hated but that we all want to see because of the nostalgia that watching movies from our childhood gives us , the ones that have been less accepted, not to say that they are hated, are the ones that change something in the plot or something that characterized this film, because if they promise us that we are going to see what we saw when we were little, we don't want changes, that is, it doesn't matter If your partner is a talking dragon, if animals talk, if elegant ones fly, we all hope to see it as it is.

The movie you review has some loopholes in the script, the main character is not very sympathetic, just as you say.
