Hello! As part of our ongoing efforts to improve both interaction and curation in the Movies and TV Shows Community, this post is one of many to highlight and boost members of the past week that have posted what we believe is exceptional content.

The Details

Each week, our Moderators will monitor the posts within the Movies and TV Shows Community and handpick the ones that are believed to stand out under numerous factors: post quality, length, and subject.

There are no entry requirements, and this is not a contest, but simply a roundup intended to provide additional exposure to all of you for your efforts. Just have fun posting in the Movies & TV Shows Community and five or more posts will be chosen frequently.

The Black Phone (Review/ Reseña)

The Black Phone known as The Black Phone, possibly you have already seen it, I just sat down to enjoy a highly suspenseful movie. Listed as an American supernatural horror film, released in 2021. It has few scenes that will make you jump, but they will keep you glued there wanting to follow the plot and the final result.

Women who speak their minds: The Helps (2011)

As it was customary in the 1960s for everything to be perfect, the ladies of the house always demanded that their "maids" keep everything immaculate, bring up their children because they were too busy doing anything other than domestic duties... in short, they all had to appear perfect to each other. Skeeter was no exception, she had to be careful because Hilly (Bryce) controlled everything (there's always someone who thinks she's better than everyone else). In fact, Hilly came up with the fantastic idea of "separate but equal", a slogan she used to promote her bathroom for the servants outside the house. This was one of the many raindrops that made Minny quit in a masterful way and many other maids wanted to tell their stories as well.

Argylle (2024) : Recap, Review and Reflection

As I said it's visually satisfying, it's because (1) I have a thing for colorful and vibrant cinematic images and this movie definitely achieved that and (2) the choreography in the action scene is beyond amazing and there were more than 1, so I can't even ask for more.

Review - The Abandoned by director Tseng Ying-ting | Los abandonados

There was a moment when I thought about not finishing watching it because I couldn't make sense of it. I didn't know if it was a drama centered on the protagonist, with flashbacks about her loss and grief, or if it was to solve the crime.

💪🥋 Muscles, violence and testosterone. / Musculos, violencia y testosterona. (Review/ Reseña BAKI)

In short, this is not a masterpiece, far from it. It's not a bad series, but it has plot shortcomings. It is to enjoy in those moments where we don't want to think too much to understand a complicated plot.

Lord of Misrule (film): It has potential, but I think they missed the mark on this horror film

I think that from a cinematography point of view that this film is actually quite well-made despite a less-than-massive budget. There are a couple of good actors in this but for the most part the dialogue is so repetitive that I had a "get on with it already" feeling after the first 30 minutes - hence the falling asleep even though it was not very late.

Review Movie: Anatomy of a fall

Thanks to the fact that I was recently watching some movie awards I could notice the nominations that this film had and thanks to a friend who encouraged me to see it I could enjoy those two and a half hours of pure tension and more and more excited to know how that story would end. From the beginning you can feel a bit of tension but this is disguised and can go unnoticed even so from the moment that melody sounds from Samuel's room begins the whole plot of the film, I wanted once again to give a chance to foreign cinema as I have not only felt more curious about their styles of recording but for their plots.

The Beekeeper (2024).

I have to commend Adam Clay's role in the play. There was no dull moment with him as he treated things like he was supposed to. However, the other characters in the movie acted like they were auditioning to be an actor/actress. It was unbelievably annoying, especially the role played by Emmy Raver-Lampman, who was Agent Verona Parker. Seeing that her mother had died and how she acted, it didn't align.

Aquaman II The lost Kingdom (Movie Review)

The film develops with a very intense action from the beginning to the end, achieving an intense atmosphere of tension and expectations, full of great battles on the surface and underwater as well, with visual effects worthy of admiring all the time and that in some moments the technology used reminds us of some of the machines of "The Matrix", but that does not detract from the greatness of the film.

Reseña con Spoiler: Cuando acecha la maldad (2023)

Something I noticed here is that apparently the whole town already knows that there is a possibility that the "envichados" exist, well, some people do not believe much in this kind of things; however in the film we are made to understand that the people are aware that the evil presences and that evil exists. They take the whole story of the "envichados" so seriously that there are even people specialized in killing them safely.
