Hola amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv, espero que se encuentren muy bien el día de hoy. Hace poco me puse a revisar algunas películas que tengo por ver en mi watchlist de Letterboxd y me encontré con una que llamó mi atención. La película tiene por nombre Victoria y es bastante interesante el verla ya que al comienzo piensas que va a ocurrir algo pero luego hay giros inesperados y ocurren cosas peores. Esta película puede que para algunos sea desconocida, realmente creo que en el año 2015 que fue lanzada no muchas personas sabían de ella, aún así en Letterboxd (que es una aplicación donde puedes unirte a la comunidad del cine y puedes dejar reseñas, puntuaciones y guardar las películas que quieres ver a futuro) habían muchas personas que la vieron y tuvo muy buenas críticas. Así que los invito a leer mi reseña de la película Victoria.
Hello friends of the Movies & Tv community, I hope you are doing great today. I recently started to review some movies I have to watch in my Letterboxd watchlist and I found one that caught my attention. The movie is called Victoria and it is quite interesting to watch because at the beginning you think something is going to happen but then there are unexpected twists and turns and worse things happen. This movie might be unknown to some, I really think that in 2015 that it was released not many people knew about it, still on Letterboxd (which is an app where you can join the movie community and you can leave reviews, ratings and save the movies you want to see in the future) there were many people who saw it and it had very good reviews. So I invite you to read my review of the movie Victoria.
La historia comienza contándonos una noche en Berlin y una chica llamada Victoria interpretada por Laia Costa, la cual se va de fiesta a un bar y conoce a un grupo de hombres alemanes bastante divertidos y que tienen muy poca comprensión del inglés pero que aun asi tratan de comunicarse con Victoria quien viene de españa y esta conociendo las calles de Berlin. Pasa el rato con este grupo de hombres bastante alocados y con quien tiene una especie de conexión. Lo que parecía ser una noche de tragos, ella termina aceptando salir con estos hombres y divertirse un rato, en el transcurso de la noche se da cuenta de que ellos no son los más tranquilos o que respetan las leyes. Después de robarse un auto uno de ellos se ofrece a llevar a Victoria a su trabajo que es en una cafetería cerca del club, pero las cosas se empiezan a salir de control y ella no puede evitar meterse en muchos problemas.
The story begins with a night in Berlin and a girl named Victoria played by Laia Costa, who goes to party in a bar and meets a group of German men who are quite funny and have very little understanding of English but still try to communicate with Victoria who comes from Spain and is getting to know the streets of Berlin. She hangs out with this group of men who are quite wild and with whom she has a sort of connection. What seemed to be a night of drinking, she ends up agreeing to hang out with these men and have a little fun, over the course of the night she realizes that they are not the quietest or most law abiding. After stealing a car one of them offers to drive Victoria to her job at a coffee shop near the club, but things start to get out of control and she can't help but get into a lot of trouble.
Este grupo de hombres resultan ser una banda criminal liderada por uno de ellos llamado Sonne (Frederick Lau) quien al parecer se metió con otra banda y ahora les debe dinero, así que Victoria termina metida en todo este rollo y los acompaña hasta un lugar dónde el jefe de la banda a la que le deben dinero esta esperándolos para darles indicaciones de cómo pueden conseguir el dinero de manera fácil. Y terminan metiéndose en un lío dónde roban un banco y se llevan el dinero que les está pidiendo el jefe de la otra banda. Pero las cosas dan un giro y empiezan a salir mal, ahora Victoria es parte del crimen cometido y ya es algo tarde para tratar de salir del problema y que la noche que parecía ser solo de fiesta y adrenalina termine de una buena manera.
This group of men turn out to be a criminal gang led by one of them named Sonne (Frederick Lau) who apparently got into it with another gang and now owes them money, so Victoria ends up getting into the whole mess and accompanies them to a place where the boss of the gang they owe money to is waiting for them to give them directions on how they can get the money in an easy way. And they end up getting into a mess where they rob a bank and take the money that the boss of the other gang is asking for. But things take a turn and start to go wrong, now Victoria is part of the crime committed and it is too late to try to get out of trouble and that the night that seemed to be just partying and adrenaline ends in a good way.
La película "Victoria" nos lleva a un viaje de adrenalina y tensión, es una historia que además de estar llena de acción tiene muy buenos actores sobre todo la protagonista que la interpreta Laia Costa quien al comienzo parecía ser una chica introvertida pero que luego se abre con este grupo de hombres alemanes que terminan adoptandola como parte de su grupo y a quien tratan de proteger. Además está historia te lleva a estar dos horas y veinte minutos reflexionando acerca de las decisiones que tomamos como seres humanos, de cómo en el momento que menos pensamos podemos estar viviendo una vida y luego que nuestros planes cambien por completo. Debo decir que al principio tuve mucho miedo porque pensé lo peor acerca de que Victoria se fuera con este grupo de hombres siendo mujer y estando sola, no pasó lo que me imaginaba pero tampoco esperaba lo que vendría después.
The film "Victoria" takes us on a journey of adrenaline and tension, it is a story that besides being full of action has very good actors especially the protagonist played by Laia Costa who at first seemed to be an introverted girl but then opens up with this group of German men who end up adopting her as part of their group and who they try to protect. Also this story takes you to spend two hours and twenty minutes reflecting on the decisions we make as human beings, how in the moment we least think we can be living a life and then our plans change completely. I must say that at the beginning I was very scared because I thought the worst about Victoria leaving with this group of men being a woman and being alone, it didn't happen what I imagined but I didn't expect what would come next either.
Victoria tiene algo que hace que sea una película impresionante, además de la trama la película fue grabada en una sola toma, estuvieron dos horas y veinte minutos grabando la película capturando cada momento, conversación y giros inesperados que fue una de las cosas que más me gusto de este film, la grabación en una sola toma hace que sientas que estas metido dentro de la historia de manera que te deja impresionado y la sensación de realismo es increíble. Lograr esta forma de captar las escenas en una sola toma es algo que me gustó del director Sebastian Schipper además de que me mantuvo en toda esta noche llena de locura y dónde cada escena te permitia ver cómo la película se iba poniendo cada vez mejor. Pienso que hay pocas películas que han hecho está técnica de grabar en una sola toma y además de que es muy arriesgado por qué podría salir mal, en Victoria consiguió que a la audiencia le encantara y a mi también.
Victoria has something that makes it an impressive film, besides the plot the film was shot in one take, they spent two hours and twenty minutes shooting the film capturing every moment, conversation and unexpected twists and turns which was one of the things I liked the most about this film, shooting in one take makes you feel like you are inside the story in a way that leaves you impressed and the feeling of realism is incredible. Achieving this way of capturing the scenes in a single take is something I liked about director Sebastian Schipper and it kept me going throughout this crazy night where each scene allowed you to see how the film was getting better and better. I think there are few films that have done this technique of shooting in one take and besides the fact that it is very risky because it could go wrong, in Victoria he got the audience to love it and me too.
