I feel very different about this film than you do because I found the pace to be extremely slow and for the most part this film was quite boring. I like that the Rock is trying to do something different but I wouldn't count on him being offered more roles like this since it has lost the company tens of millions of dollars.

The actor's performance is very good, and he brings a great touch to every film he appears in. As for the film itself, it has some good points as well as some average ones.
I think that the Rock is an impressive physical specimen but just like Arnold, I don't really think there is a great deal of acting talent there. More than none, sure, but there's a reason why Arnold was never nominated for any big awards and I don't think that Dwayne Johnson is in any danger of ever being nominated either. It's really rare that someone can be this impressively muscular and be able to act at all, so I can understand the appeal for sure.
