Something that is really special about the better Pixar films is that they are entertaining to both kids and adults but often for very different reasons. For adults this was a bit of a tragic tale of a man who has lived a full life but is facing a bit of depression, for kids it would be the story of a young boy who lacks direction in life and maybe doesn't have a lot of friends... but the two stories combined is the two of them forming a special bond and connecting in a lovely way. And in the meantime we get plenty of fun interaction with a cute dog and that is always wonderful. Up is one of my favorite animated films of all time!
