Someone Re-Imagined Movie Studio Intros As Horror

in Movies & TV Shows25 days ago

I am a huge fan of movies and can tell you, there is no shortage of studio intros to sit through before the feature presentation begins. Over on YouTube, using Artificial Intelligence, created horror themed versions of many classic studio intros we know, and some love others hate.

23 Studio Intros Re-Imagined

I am not going to waste your time reading a list of the 12 studios as that would be extremely boring. Instead, I am picking 10, five I liked and five I thought could be better and why.

I am going to name off my top five from this list and five I feel missed the mark.

Five Best, In My Opinion

The Paramount logo starts normally but quickly turns into a scene that would fit right in with Lord of the Rings or some other hellish camping movie. Great looking, dark and moody, well done.

Disney’s intro goes extremely hard, it is probably the best one in this bunch. At first it looks like the evil Queen has succeeded in taking the castle as dark smoke billows out of the central tower than the skies darken and we are treated to a zoom into the castle for more.

Universal Pictures really takes on an undead vibe, like the whole planet Earth is done, we are ended. Nothing here but zombies and death. Extremely well done.

Warner Bros was underwhelming at first then the logo starts zooming up against a massive storm in the background and the logo breaks into two pieces. Unexpected, but welcome chaos with this one.

Pixar’s intro really turns the lamp onto the dark side. It almost comes off as the lamp feeling sad for ending the ‘I’ as it turns and looks at the ‘p’. Nice touch with the integration of the rest of the letters too.

Close but The Cleaver Just Missed the Juggular

Tristar starts out normally, white Pegasus flying in then morphs into Death riding his steed. The problem I had with this one was how late the morphing occurred. It just felt late in the animation. Some tweaking and this could easily move to the better category.

Columbia has the timing down great for the morphing but for some reason the bats threw me off. It is a great logo, just could have used more horror themed niceties. Turning the torch holding woman into a zombie was cool but that stops being able to use zombies instead of bats. Maybe have her morph into a vampire and zombies climbing to reach her would be better?

MGM was doomed from the start as far as making a good horror themed intro. What can you do with a lion that we only see the head of? What is there is decent, just not as good as the worst out of my bottom five.

Dreamworks was on a roll until the end. Those little cartoon ghosts that appear to be inspired by Casper ruined the edginess that was created here.

Blumhouse is another that was ruined by too much cartoon stuff. Remove the ghost coming out of the house and leave the zombie hands and it is easily in the better category. As it stands, it is bad but not as bad as the two left off this list.
