I think the big problem with Star Wars isn't so much the movies, the real problem is the fandom and its generational perspectives ๐
Hahaha, your good friend came in his pants easily, haha ๐คฃ. Good old Jar Jar Binks, one of the mistakes in this saga, which I consider minor when compared to other things. Every saga has its atrocities that fall into the generational perspective of the fan. In my case, the Cute Bears in Episode 6 are as atrocious as Jar Jar, and in fact, the latter had an impact on the audience because it was born from the Cute Bears ๐
That's why I'll stick with the good, which is a lot. In my case, this is one of the Star Wars movies I've enjoyed the most. I remember falling in love with Padmรฉ Amidala, as well as the action scenes featuring one of the best battle characters, Darth Maul, who, without speaking, left his mark on the franchise forever and is worth the price of admission all by himself. and as a narrative, it allowed me to see a glimpse of the political aspect with Palpatine, etc.
It's not that the CGI was supposedly bad (in my case, I think it was very good for the time), it's just that those were times or a decade for experimenting with that technology. I would have done the same thing as Lucas, betting on innovation that ultimately proved to be what would dominate the industry. Even today, I still prefer practical effects, but trends paved the way. And in today's world, we have to see what will happen with AI in the industry, etc.
excellent response and it's nice to see a viewpoint from the other side. While most people were severely disappointed in this film, it doesn't mean that you are wrong because you liked it. The appreciation of art is very subjective and your opinion cannot be wrong.
I remember reading that Darth Maul only had 4 lines in this film and I was disappointed to see him depart the trilogy so quickly. Maybe that was already in the canon and they had to do it or something. he was a seriously cool character but for me, too many of the other characters that were introduced were the opposite of "cool."
