Seguramente muchas de nuestras publicaciones surgen de momentos de reflexión sobre situaciones que ocurren en nuestra rutina diaria, y este post no es la excepción. Hace unos días estaba viendo una de mis series favoritas y riéndome como si fuera primera vez que la veía. En este caso se trata de una caricatura que tuvo su última temporada hace unos años y recuerdo lo triste que me puse por ello.
Ese día particular en el que veía la repetición de sus capítulos se me pasó por la mente que me hubiese gustado que la serie tuviera más capítulos o que hubiese continuado hasta la actualidad, pero luego yo misma debatí esta idea, ¿esto realmente hubiese hecho que me siguiera gustando? Explico un poco este pensamiento en esta publicación...
Surely many of our publications arise from moments of reflection about situations that occur in our daily routine, and this post is no exception. A few days ago I was watching one of my favorite series and laughing as if it was the first time I was watching it. In this case it is a cartoon that had its last season a few years ago and I remember how sad I was about it.
That particular day when I was watching the reruns of its episodes it crossed my mind that I would have liked the series to have more episodes or to have continued until the present day, but then I debated this idea myself, would this really have made me still like it? I explain a bit about this thought in this post....
Cuando sabemos que nuestra serie favorita va a llegar a su fin es normal que nos pongamos tristes e incluso molestos porque quisiéramos seguir conociendo a los personajes, continuar riendo y/o llorando con ellos y seguir esta historia que nos tiene tan cautivados. Desde mi experiencia personal, algunas veces he considerado la culminación de algunas series como algo injusto y sin sentido (principalmente cuando las cancelan), ya que me parece que hay mucho más por contar y quiero seguir viendo en acción a personajes de los que realmente me volví fanática.
When we know that our favorite series is coming to an end, it is normal that we get sad and even upset because we would like to continue knowing the characters, continue laughing and/or crying with them and continue this story that has us so captivated. From my personal experience, sometimes I have considered the culmination of some series as something unfair and senseless (mainly when they are cancelled), because I think there is much more to tell and I want to continue seeing in action the characters that I really became a fan of.

Sin embargo, también he experimentado el lado opuesto. En ocasiones que una serie termine puede ser lo mejor que le puede pasar a la serie (es decir, a todo el equipo que le conforma) e incluso a sus fanáticos. He seguido series que me engancharon en las primeras temporadas, tuvieron varias más, y debo confesar que a medida que transcurría la historia, esta se fue deteriorando, se volvieron repetitivos, incluso a veces en extremo dramáticos, añadían nuevos personajes innecesarios, nuevos giros a la historia que la complicaban sin sentido alguno, y la verdad es que al final de esto acabas teniéndole rabia a estos personajes que se alejaron totalmente de su esencia y de aquello que hizo que te gustaran tanto.
Por otro lado, a fin de cuentas eso es un trabajo, y estos actores siguen órdenes de alguien más, entonces también dejas de admirar la habilidad de la producción, dirección y el resto del equipo por haber creado esa maravillosa historia que al comienzo te enamoró, porque luego se hizo evidente que quisieron alargar la serie de forma forzada (sea cual sea la razón de esto) y que en el transcurso parece que se quedaron sin buenas ideas.

Sometimes the end of a series can be the best thing that can happen to the series (that is, to the whole team that makes it up) and even to its fans. I have followed series that hooked me in the first seasons, they had several more, and I must confess that as the story went on, it deteriorated, they became repetitive, sometimes even extremely dramatic, they added new unnecessary characters, new twists to the story that complicated it without any sense, and the truth is that at the end of this you end up having anger to these characters that were totally away from their essence and what made you like them so much.
On the other hand, at the end of the day this is a job, and these actors follow orders from someone else, so you also stop admiring the ability of the production, direction and the rest of the team for having created that wonderful story that at the beginning you fell in love with, because then it became evident that they wanted to extend the series in a forced way (whatever the reason for this) and that in the course it seems that they ran out of good ideas.

Entonces, no siempre que nuestra serie favorita termine es algo negativo. Si, seguramente la vamos a extrañar, y nos gustaría ver más a algunos personajes porque como buen fanático terminas teniéndole cariño a personas que no existen 😂, pero creo que lo mejor para cualquier serie es terminar en su momento justo, siendo fiel a su esencia, y que sus creadores dediquen tiempo suficiente para desarrollar un final que permita al fanático cerrar este ciclo de forma positiva, sintiéndose satisfecho, conforme con el tiempo invertido, y con ganas de seguir el trabajo posterior tanto de los actores como de los creadores, porque saben que será algo de buena calidad.

Yes, we will surely miss it, and we would like to see more of some characters because as a good fan you end up being fond of people who do not exist 😂, but I think the best thing for any series is to end at the right time, being faithful to its essence, and that its creators spend enough time to develop an ending that allows the fan to close this cycle in a positive way, feeling satisfied, satisfied with the time invested, and wanting to follow the subsequent work of both the actors and the creators, because they know it will be something of good quality.

Tienes mucha razón, me sentí muy identificado con tu post, es cierto que en algún momento la serie debe terminar, me ha pasado al menos viendo otras series que intentan seguir la historia, creando una gran cantidad de temporadas, pero llega un momento en que ya no es lo mismo, o a veces se vuelve todo muy repetitivo, y aburre.
Totalmente, y a veces sucede con series bastante famosas. Es una lástima.

Tener un final adecuado es importante para que la serie pase al recuerdo como una buena experiencia. Lo peor que le pueden hacer a una serie es sobre explotarla y hacer ver a los fans que se están aprovechando de la popularidad para exprimir cuantos capítulos/temporadas sea posible. Esto me paso con la serie La Casa de Papel, creo que la comenzaron a sobre explotar y ya no me gusta tanto como antes.
En cambio, una serie que podía haber sido sobre explotada dada la naturaleza complicada de su historia pero no lo fue, es Dark. Una obra maestra de viajes en el tiempo. Las series deben terminar y deben hacerlo bien, de lo contrario dañan el recuerdo.

También he sido seguidora de series muy populares en las cuales sucedió eso, quisieron alargarla lo más posible y les salió mal, al menos en mi círculo cercano no conozco a una persona que le haya gustado cómo finalizó.
