A couple of days ago I showed you a very interesting initiative that I saw on Tik Tok where an image was used to express which were our favorite movies with respect to certain criterias: favorite poster, best Long Movie, best soundtrack, etc.
Because it was pretty long, I decided to divide this initiative into two parts, and today I am here to tell you about all the films that I missed on that first occasion.
So without going around too much, let's get started.
1.That cinematography...
Good cinematography is quite a subjective aspect, however, there are examples where we find ourselves before an almost objective beauty that is difficult to ignore.
The Batman for me is a pretty solid example, each scene has a very clear narrative purpose, and at the same time serves to mark the gothic and decadent atmosphere that its filmmaker Matt Reeves was trying to promote.
2.Bad Day Cure.
It may be an unorthodox example, but I think Casino is the perfect movie to lift my spirits, it has a great pace, brilliant sequences and a plot that is still fascinating even though we already know everything that is going to happen.
Like Goodfellas, The Irishman or The Wolf of Wall Street, they are brilliant films that balance dense drama very well with crazy displays of power and excess.
3.Favorite protagonist.
Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems proved to a whole new generation that he can act, a captivating, suffocating performance that he fits like a glove to a captivating, suffocating film.
4.Favorite trilogy.
Richard Linklater's Before trilogy seems to me to be an ideal use of all the possibilities of cinema as a means of telling stories, making us experience the bond of a couple in three very different moments of their lives, the best romantic movies I've seen in my life. .
5.Biggest letdown. (Biggest disappointment)
Home Sweet Home Alone was the bitter reboot of Home Alone, the Christmas classic starring Macaulay Culkin, this time less funny, less emotional, and unable to justify its own existence.
6.Biggest surprise.
I remembered Shane Black's The Nice Guys as a rather mediocre black comedy, however, revisiting it made me fall in love with every aspect of it, its atmosphere, music, and brilliant performances by Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe.
7.Not the best but having fun. (Not the best but it was fun)
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was a perfect closure to a franchise that lasted longer than necessary, I never agreed with those who hated it and I think it had many great ideas well implemented.
8.Criminally overlooked.
Surf's Up, an animated film ahead of its time, with a unique directorial style and several hilarious moments.
9.Depressing Movie.
Sleepers, a beautiful but rather rude movie, with a bittersweet ending.
10.Favorite active director.
Ari Aster and Martin Scorsese, both have created quality films with more consistency than anyone else in very different fields.
11.Favorite animated movie. (Favorite animated movie)
Into the Spiderverse, again.
12.Not usually my thing but...
La la Land, again.

Hace un par de días les mostré una
Iniciativa bastante interesante que ví en Tik Tok en dónde se utilizaba un cuadro para expresar cuáles eran nuestras películas favoritas respecto a ciertos criterios: poster favorito, mejor película Larga, mejor soundtrack, etc.
Cómo me estaba extendiendo bastante decidí dividir dicha iniciativa en dos partes, y hoy precisamente vengo a hablarles de todas las películas que me faltaron en esa ocasión.
Así que sin dar muchas vueltas empecemos.
1.That cinematography... (Esa cinematografía...)
La buena cinematografía es un aspecto bastante subjetivo, no obstante, existen ejemplos en dónde nos encontramos ante una belleza casi objetiva y difícil de ignorar.
The Batman para mí es un ejemplo bastante sólido, cada escena cuenta con un propósito narrativo muy claro, y al mismo tiempo sirve para marcar la atmósfera gótica y decante que su cineasta Matt Reeves estaba tratando de impulsar.
2.Bad Day Cure. (Cura para un mal día)
Quizá sea un ejemplo poco ortodoxo pero me parece que Casino es una película perfecta para subirme el ánimo, tiene un ritmo estupendo, secuencias brillantes y una trama que no deja de ser fascinante aunque ya sepamos todo lo que va a ocurrir.
Al igual que Goodfellas, The Irishman o el Lobo de Wall Street, son películas brillantes que balancean muy bien el drama denso con muestras alocadas de poder y excesos.
3.Favorite protagonist. (protagonista favorito)
Adam Sandler en Uncut Gems le demostró a toda una nueva generación que puede actuar, un performance cautivante y asfixiante que le sienta como un guante a una película cautivante y asfixiante.
4.Favorite trilogy. (Trilogía favorita)
La trilogía Before de Richard Linklater me parece un aprovechamiento ideal de todas las posibilidades del cine como un medio para contar historias, haciéndonos vivir el vínculo de una pareja en tres momentos de sus vidas muy diferentes, las mejores películas románticas que he visto en mi vida.
5.Biggest letdown. (Mayor decepción)
Home Sweet Home Alone fue el amargo reboot de Home Alone, el clásico navideño protagonizado por Macaulay Culkin, está vez menos gracioso, menos emotivo, e incapaz de justificar su propia existencia.
6.Biggest surprise. (Mayor sorpresa)
Recordaba the nice guys de Shane black como una comedia negra bastante mediocre, no obstante, revisitarla me hizo enamorar de cada aspecto de ella, su atmósfera, la música, y los brillantes performances de Ryan Gosling y Russell Crowe.
7.Not the best but having fun. (No es la mejor pero fue divertida)
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny fue un cierre perfecto a una franquicia que se alargó más de necesario, nunca estuve de acuerdo con aquellos que la detestaron y ciento que tuvo muchas grandes ideas bien implementadas.
8.Criminally overlooked. (Criminalmente ignorada)
Surf's Up, una cinta de animación adelantada a su tiempo, con un estilo de dirección única y varios momentos hilarantes.
9.Depressing Movie. (Película deprimente)
Sleepers, una película hermosa pero bastante ruda, con un final agridulce.
10.Favorite active director. (Director favorito activo)
Ari Aster y Martin Scorsese, ambos han creado joyas de calidad con más consistencia que nadie en ámbitos muy distintos.
11.Favorite animated movie. (Película animada favorita)
Into the Spiderverse, otra vez.
12.Not usually my thing but... (no es lo mío pero...)
La la Land, otra vez.
