Harina: The Lieutenant vs. El Cancelador is a series produced by Comedy Central and broadcast on that channel and on the Prime Video streaming service, and tells the story after the viral video in 2019 produced by the YouTube channel Backdoor, where we see Lieutenant Prieto and the officer Ramírez in a hilarious situation involving a house raid and narcotics. If you have not seen it, here is the link to the YouTube video so you can see the preamble of this series, and it is something important because the entire series revolves around that event.
Just by watching the skit on YouTube, it promises you that you will laugh a lot because the situation is so surreal and absurd, that it generates a genuine and quite pleasant humor. It doesn't feel forced and that's the most fun, all the acting and expressions are quite good and heartfelt. I assure you that if you were part of the casting of the sketch, you would not have been able to hold your laughter recording it.
What did I think of the serie?
Guillermo "Memo" Villegas is the actor who plays Edson Prieto, better known as Lieutenant Prieto or Lieutenant Harina, a Mexican policeman separated from his wife with a small daughter in common. His partner, the official rookie Ramírez, is played by Verónica Bravo, and they will become a very uneven couple throughout the eight episodes of the series. The two characters show us a different world from the police forces worldwide: one is somewhat corrupt, with vices and many problems that affect their interpersonal relationships; while the other is correct, ethical and thirsty to apply justice in the city.

Prieto and Ramírez, after the scandalous video that went viral on the internet of the Lieutenant personally ruling out whether what they had found in a raid was cocaine, were appointed to take care of "El Cagadero", an area of the city with many groups homes whose main problems were stray dogs and grumbling elderly people. However, one day, a couple of apparently isolated murders, to which the police officers Ramírez and Prieto heeded a call for support, concluded that there was a serial murderer since the modus operandi of the two murderers had been the same: they cut off the thumbs of the hands and they slit their necks from side to side.
Contrary to what you may think, the main theme of the series is pure and simple comedy, with a solid base of police investigation, but it is nothing more than the means used to promote very funny and even absurd scenes. I thought that I was not going to like the series very much, I thought it was going to be stupid or something, but to my surprise it was very funny but not in absurd and unnecessary ways.

Most of the comedy that we will see is in the competition that exists between two groups of the police force, one of them is only the Lieutenant and Ramírez, and the other group is made up of three policemen (two men and one woman) quite peculiar: a man and a woman are cousins, but they always, and I repeat, ALWAYS have very close displays of affection, to put it another way. And the last man in this group repeatedly makes fun of Lieutenant Prieto since he is responsible for recording and uploading the Lieutenant's video to the networks. Between these two groups they will compete to see who catches the serial killer "El Cancelador" faster, a name that was originally devised by Ramírez but since nobody believed that he was a serial killer, they did not take it into account. After the third murder with the same modus operandi, it is that his theory gains strength and the idea is stolen and exposed to the public media.
Edson, an unstable character, wants to maintain joint custody of his daughter, but after his video went viral, the judge handling the case doubted the best interests of the girl, because clearly her father is a narcotic addict; and in order to enjoy the benefit of joint custody and be present in the development of his daughter, he will do everything possible to clean up his public image and treat his addiction. I won't tell you more because if not, I'd be making thousands of spoilers for you and it's really worth seeing.

Final comments
A fairly family friendly series despite the fact that it touches on issues such as addiction, murder and psychotropic substances, but they do not do it in a deep way so that children could watch it without a problem. The type of humor used, the latent sarcasm and all the comical situations that we will see throughout the series, makes it ideal for a teenage and/or adult audience that enjoys comedies that involve other topics and that give it a special depth and quite nice. The mix between a corrupt and addicted police officer (who will evolve motivated by love for his daughter) and a rookie police officer who wants to do everything in accordance with the Law is very good because it allows us to see two totally opposite sides of the same world, and if seasoned with a serial murder investigation that in one way or another could involve main characters of the series, they make it very good to pass the time. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations at the beginning, but as a co-worker told me about the series and showed me the viralized video that gave life to this series, I was hooked and I really don't regret it.

Con solo ver el sketch en YouTube les prometo que se reirán mucho porque la situación es tan surrealista y absurda, que genera un humor genuino y bastante agradable. No se siente forzado y eso es lo más divertido, todas las actuaciones y expresiones son bastantes buenas y sentidas. Les aseguro que si ustedes fueran parte del casting del sketch, no hubiesen podido aguantar la risa grabándolo.
¿Qué me pareció la serie?
Guillermo "Memo" Villegas es el actor que interpreta a Edson Prieto, mejor conocido como Teniente Prieto o Teniente Harina, un policía mexicano separado de su esposa con una hija pequeña en común. Su compañera, la novata oficial Ramírez, es interpretada por Verónica Bravo, y se convertirán en una pareja bien dispareja a lo largo de los ocho capítulos que tiene la serie. Los dos personajes nos enseñan un mundo distinto de los cuerpos de policías a nivel mundial: uno es algo corrupto, con vicios y muchos problemas que afectan sus relaciones interpersonales; mientras que el otro es correcto, ético y sediento de aplicar justicia en la ciudad.

Prieto y Ramírez, tras el escandaloso video viralizado en internet del Teniente haciendo el descarte personalmente de si lo que habían encontrado en una redada era cocaína, fueron designados para cuidar "El Cagadero", una zona de la ciudad con muchos conjuntos residenciales cuyos problemas principales eran perros extravíados y ancianos quejosos. No obstante, un día un par de asesinatos aparentemente aislados a cuyo llamado de apoyo atemdieron los policías Ramírez y Prieto, concluyeron que había un asesino serial ya que el modus operandi de los dos homicidos había sido el mismo: cortaron los pulgares de las manos y les abrieron el cuello de lado a lado.
Contrario a lo que puedan pensar, la temática principal de la serie es la comedia pura y dura, con una base sólida de investigación policial, pero no es más que el medio utilizado para propiciar escenas muy graciosas e incluso hasta absurdas. Pensé que no me iba a gustar mucho la serie, pensé que iba a ser una esupidez o algo parecido, pero para mi sorpresa sí fue muy cómica pero no en formas absurdas e innecesarias.

La mayoría de la comedia que veremos es en la competencia que existe entre dos grupos del cuerpo de la policía, uno de ellos solo son el Teniente y Ramírez, y el otro grupo está conformado por tres policías (dos hombres y una mujer) bastante peculiares: un hombre y una mujer son primos, pero siempre, y repito, SIEMPRE tienen unas muestras de afecto muy cercanas, para no decir otra forma. Y el último hombre de este grupo hace burlas recurrentes al Teniente Prieto ya que este es el responsable de grabar y subir el video del Teniente a las redes. Entre estos dos grupos competirán para ver quién atrapa más rápido al asesino serial "El Cancelador", nombre que fue ideado por Ramírez en un principio pero como nadie creía que era un asesino serial, no lo tomaron en cuenta. Luego del tercer asesinato con el mismo modus operandi, es que su teoría toma fuerza y le roban la idea y lo exponen ante los medios públicos.
Edson, un personaje inestable, quiere mantener la custodia compartida de su hija, pero tras la viralización de su video, la Juez que lleva el caso duda en cuanto a los mejores intereses de la niña, porque claramente su padre es un adicto a los narcóticos; y para lograr gozar el beneficio de la custodia compartida y estar presente en el desarrollo de su niña, hará hasta lo imposible para limpiar su imagen pública y tratar su adicción. No les cuento más porque si no, les estaría haciendo miles de spoilers y de verdad vale la pena verla.

Comentarios finales
Una serie bastante family friendly a pesar de que toca temas como la adicción, asesinatos y sustancias psicotrópicas, pero no lo hacen de una manera profunda así que los niños podrían verla sin problema. El tipo de humor empleado, el sarcasmo latente y todas las situaciones cómicas que veremos a lo largo de la serie, la hace ideal para un público adolescente y/o adulto que disfrute de comedias que involucren otros temas y que le den una profundidad especial y bastante agradable. El mix entre un policia corrupto y adicto (que evolucionará por el amor a su hija) y una policía novata que quiere hacer todo al pie de la Ley es muy buena porque nos permite ver dos caras totalmente opuestas del mismo mundo, y si lo aderezamos con una investigación de asesinatos en serie que de alguna u otra manera podrían involucrar a personajes principales de la serie, la hacen muy buena para pasar el rato. Sinceramente no le tenía muchas expectativas al inicio, pero como un compañero de trabajo me habló de la serie y me mostró el video viralizado que dio vida a esta serie, me enganché y de verdad que no me arrepiento.

hasta hace poco tenias disponible Amazon primer, esta fue una que no me dio tiempo de ver. peculiar el nombre de la zona que deben cuidar jajaja. Voy a tener que buscarla para darle una mirada, aunque dices que es muy family friendly y eso no me gusta mucho, pero cuentas que es graciosa , quiero ver a los primos cariñosos, son solo primos, seria mas atrevido siendo hermanos.
