Esperaba Algo Distinto de Gladiador II pero al menos me Entretuve
Hey que tal, gente de Hive?! Volvemos por esta parte de la comunidad luego de un largo rato sin subir un post hablando sobre a los que muchos nos apasiona, las películas. Hace poco tuve la oportunidad de ver Gladiador 2 luego de su estreno, tenía muchas ganas de ir a verla en el cine pero por fuerzas mayores a mi voluntad no logré ir a verla, ya pasados los meses por fin pude disfrutarla y, aunque si tuve cierta “desilusión”, pude disfrutarla de igual forma. Soy de los que piensan que no hay películas “malas” sino historias mal contadas y en el caso de Gladiador 2 no llega hasta punto pero sí que da la impresión de haber querido ir por ese camino.

Hey what's up, people of Hive! We are back in this part of the community after a long time without uploading a post talking about what many of us are passionate about, movies. Recently I had the opportunity to see Gladiator 2 after its premiere, I really wanted to go to see it at the cinema but due to forces beyond my will I couldn't go to see it, after a few months I could finally enjoy it and, although I had some “disappointment”, I could enjoy it just the same. I am one of those who think that there are no “bad” movies but badly told stories and in the case of Gladiator 2 it doesn't go that far but it does give the impression of having wanted to go that way.
SourceCon el anuncio de Gladiador 2 me vi en la tarea de ver la película original que salió por allá en el 2000, nunca había tenido interés en verla y ver el tráiler de su secuela me motivó a verla y puedo decir que, Gladiador 2 es como una secuela al pie de la letra de Gladiador. Antes de cualquier cosa quiero aclarar, Gladiador 2 me gustó, quizás no me encantó pero sí estuvo bastante entretenida, si bien esperaba más, algo diferente, puedo decir que estuvo bastante bien para pasar el rato viendo algo entretenido.
Gladiador 1 simplemente fue muy buena, dejó el listón alto en caso de tener secuela, y ahora que la tuvo, me atrevería a decir que su secuela no cumple con las expectativas que esta primera dejo, en primer lugar diría que mientras estaba viendo la película no podía evitar pensar “Es como ver Gladiador 1 con diferente skin” y es que sus similitudes están a la orden del día, la forma en la que comienza, vemos su desarrollo y tenemos su desenlace. No digo que sea un calco, porque tampoco lo es, pero sí me dejó esa sensación que les comenté hace un momento, comparten muchas similitudes.
With the announcement of Gladiator 2 I saw myself in the task of watching the original movie that came out back in 2000, I had never been interested in watching it and seeing the trailer of its sequel motivated me to watch it and I can say that Gladiator 2 is like a sequel to the letter of Gladiator. Before anything else I want to clarify, I liked Gladiator 2, maybe I didn't love it but it was quite entertaining, although I expected more, something different, I can say that it was pretty good to spend time watching something entertaining.
Gladiator 1 was simply very good, it left the bar high in case of having a sequel, and now that it did, I would dare to say that its sequel does not meet the expectations that this first one left, first of all I would say that while I was watching the movie I could not help thinking “It's like watching Gladiator 1 with different skin” and their similarities are the order of the day, the way it begins, we see its development and we have its denouement. I'm not saying it's a copy, because it isn't either, but it did leave me with that feeling I mentioned a moment ago, they share many similarities.
En cuanto a las interpretaciones unas sobresalen más que otras, en mi opinión Denzel Washintong fue de lo mejor del filme, mientras que veía la película pensé que iba a ser una especie de “héroe” que junto a Hanno (protagonista interpretado por Paul Mescal) o Lucius, como lo quieran llamar, iban a derrocar a los emperadores, pero no querido amigo todo lo contrario, me tomó un poco por sorpresa pensé que iba a ser un personaje diferente pero no fue así. Pedro Pascal por su parte, hace un buen trabajo aunque con muy poco tiempo en pantalla. Paul Mescal como un Lucius adulto destaca aunque también observe que a lo mejor los discursos inspiradores fueron un poco forzados, algunos como que sobraban o quizás no lo ejecutaron de la mejor manera.
As for the performances some stand out more than others, in my opinion Denzel Washintong was the best of the film, while watching the movie I thought he was going to be a kind of “hero” who along with Hanno (protagonist played by Paul Mescal) or Lucius, whatever you want to call him, were going to overthrow the emperors, but no dear friend quite the opposite, it took me a little by surprise I thought he was going to be a different character but it was not so. Pedro Pascal for his part does a good job although with very little screen time. Paul Mescal as an adult Lucius stands out although I also noticed that maybe the inspirational speeches were a bit forced, some were a bit too much or maybe they were not executed in the best way.
Esta entrega está a la altura de la época ara lo efectos visuales, las batallas en barcos es de lo que más me gustó de la película, la batalla naval en el coliseo romano fue de lo mejor aunque un poco corta, logré ver unos árboles con efectos medios sospechosos pero prefiero darle el beneficio de la duda y decir que no me acuerdo exactamente bien de eso.
La historia como ya dije más arriba parece una reinterpretación pero con final de medio “feliz” para el protagonista, ya que prácticamente termina como emperador y las personas corruptas que estaban al poder murieron en su mayoría, cosa que no se logró del todo en la anterior entrega.
This installment is at the height of the time ara the visual effects, the battles on ships is what I liked most of the film, the naval battle in the Roman coliseum was the best although a little short, I managed to see some trees with suspicious medium effects but I prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that I do not remember exactly well of that.
The story as I said above seems to be a reinterpretation but with a half “happy” ending for the protagonist, since he practically ends up as emperor and the corrupt people who were in power died for the most part, something that was not fully achieved in the previous installment.
En términos generales, Gladiador 2, si no fuese por el hype que me generó al ver el tráiler perfectamente podría haber pasado sin pena ni gloria, por lo menos para mí, pero si genero tanto al punto de ver la primera entrega por si esta segunda llegaba a tener algo que ver con la entrega original. Gladiador 2 está ahí si quieres ver a romanos pelearse y pasar un buen rato si te gustó mucho Gladiador (2000), si la ves puede que pases un buen rato como puede no y termines diciendo “Por qué no vi otra cosa, malgaste mi tiempo” como fue el caso de unos amigos. Recomendada si quieres pasar un rato “diferente” y ver algo entretenido de acción pero si vienes buscando una historia diferente y algo que deje el listón aún más alto que su predecesora, es mejor que te vayas por el camino donde venias. ¡¡Hasta una próxima oportunidad!!
In general terms, Gladiator 2, if it wasn't for the hype that it generated when I saw the trailer, it could have passed without any glory, at least for me, but if it generated so much to the point of watching the first installment in case this second one would have something to do with the original installment. Gladiator 2 is there if you want to see Romans fighting and have a good time if you really liked Gladiator (2000), if you see it you might have a good time or you might not and end up saying “Why didn't I see something else, I wasted my time” as was the case of some friends. Recommended if you want to spend a “different” time and see something entertaining action but if you come looking for a different story and something that leaves the bar even higher than its predecessor, it is better to go the way you came. Coincido contigo en que muchas veces no hay una historia mala sino mal contada. Lamentablemente eso está pasando mucho con las películas últimamente, pero el hype nos lleva a verlas de todos modos.

Completamente, eso fue lo que pasó con esta, el hype me hizo ver la anterior para ver esta y entender, y cuidado si no era una saga porque la veía completa igual.
