Hello Hive friends, a few weeks ago I saw the feature film “A Star Is Born” and I will tell you how it seemed to me and some details about its shooting.
This is a film that was released in 2018, it is a remake of the film A Star Is Born that was made in the 50s. In this case, it was starred and directed by Bradley Cooper, and this was also his First Feature, He made his debut as a film director. As a co-star actress is the singer Lady Gaga.
Hola amigos de Hive, hace algunas semanas atrás vi el largometraje “A Star Is Born” y les contaré que tal me pareció y algunos detalles sobre su rodaje.
Esta es una película que fue estrenada en el año 2018, es un remake de la película A Star Is Born que se hizo en los años 50. En este caso fue protagonizada y dirigida por Bradley Cooper, y además esta fue su Ópera Prima, se estrenó como director de cine. Como actriz coprotagonista está la cantante Lady Gaga.
The film tells us the story of a very famous Country music singer (Jackson Maine) who meets a girl who works as a waitress (Ally) and has a great talent for singing and musical composition, but she is not well known anymore. That the music industry thinks that she is not physically attractive, however Jackson helps her improve her career.
This film took a long time in its pre-production, at first it was going to be directed with Clint Eastwood and the co-star was going to be the singer Beyonce but when it took so long she left and Lady Gaga entered instead.
La película nos cuenta la historia de un cantante muy famoso de música Country (Jackson Maine) que conoce a una chica que trabaja de mesonera (Ally) y posee un gran talento para el canto y a composición musical, pero ella no es muy conocida ya que la industria de la música opina que ella no es atractiva físicamente, sin embargo Jackson la ayuda a mejorar su carrera.
Esta película tardó mucho tiempo en su preproducción, en un principio iba a ser dirigida con Clint Eastwood y la coprotagonista iba a ser la cantante Beyonce pero al tardar tanto ella se retira y en su lugar entra Lady Gaga.
Being the first film directed by Bradley Cooper, we don't have a point of comparison with other works, but something that caught my attention is that there are quite a few close-ups. This gives a more dramatic touch to the scenes, and this type of shot must be perfect, which was achieved. In all these close-ups, they catch the eye, they are in focus, in my opinion they are all impeccably shot.
Al ser la primera película dirigida por Bradley Cooper, no tenemos un punto de comparación con otros trabajos, pero algo que me llamó la atención es que hay bastantes primeros planos. Esto le da un toque más dramático a las escenas, además que este tipo de planos deben estar perfectos, cosa que fue lograda. En todos estos primeros planos, captan las miradas, están en foco, a mi opinión todos están filmados impecablemente.
The performances in general I also quite liked. There are scenes that have a tense atmosphere, where the camera is very close to the characters and they really convey to you what is happening. I really loved Lady Gaga's performance, especially in the last scene that she is singing, it is a very emotional scene and it makes you feel the sadness and pain that she was going through.
Las actuaciones en general también me gustaron bastante. Hay escenas que son con un ambiente tenso, donde la cámara está muy cerca de los personajes y realmente te transmiten lo que está pasando. La actuación de Lady Gaga realmente me encantó, sobre todo en la última escena que ella está cantando, es una escena bastante emotiva y te hace sentir la tristeza y dolor por la cual ella estaba pasando.
In this last scene, apart from being quite intense, I liked the combination of jumps in time, as I mentioned before, Ally is singing and small parts of the two of them are shown rehearsing that song. This definitely adds a lot more drama to this last part and perfectly closes out the movie.
De esta última escena, aparte de ser bastante intensa, me gustó la combinación de saltos en el tiempo, como comenté anteriormente está Ally cantando y se muestran pequeñas partes de ellos dos ensayando esa canción. Esto definitivamente le da mucho más dramatismo a esta última parte y cierra perfectamente la película.
