Buenos días, buenas tardes o buenas noches, damas y caballeros. Hoy seguimos manejando la misma temática de las reseñas que vengo trayendo a esta comunidad, sí, las películas acerca de asesinos en serie y los policías persiguiéndolos dándoles caza (esto debe de tener un nombre en específico que buscaré después), supongo que desde que vi Se7en le agarré cierto gustó al género policíaco, pero es que, siéndoles sincero a quién no le gusta un buen misterio, más si está bien formulado y te mantiene atrapado, que creo que eso es lo más importante, si no se puede mantener al espectador pegado a la pantalla por los acontecimientos que van ocurriendo, qué sentido tiene, ¿de verdad te puedes considerar un buen drama psicológico con policías si no consigues eso? Es una excelente pregunta si lo piensas, con una respuesta bastante obvia. La película que les vengo a hablar a continuación se llama El coleccionista de huesos y es considerada como uno de las grandes películas de policías junto con la anteriormente mencionada Se7en, aunque sinceramente yo no tenía idea de eso, no sé mucho acerca de películas la verdad pero bueno, sin más dilación, comencemos con la reseña.
Good morning, good afternoon or good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Today we continue with the same theme of reviews that I have been bringing to this community, yes, movies about serial killers and police officers pursuing them to hunt them down (this must have a specific name that I will look for later). I guess ever since I saw Se7en, I developed a certain liking for the police genre, but honestly, who doesn't like a good mystery, especially if it is well-formulated and keeps you trapped, which I think is the most important thing, if you can't keep the viewer glued to the screen due to the events that are happening, what's the point, can you really consider yourself a good psychological drama with cops if you can't achieve that? It's an excellent question if you think about it, with a pretty obvious answer. The movie I'm going to talk about next is called The Bone Collector and it is considered one of the great police films along with the aforementioned Se7en, although honestly I had no idea about that, I don't know much about movies to be honest but well, without further ado, let's start with the review.

La película nos pone en la piel de Lincoln Rhyme, un policía casi que legendario alabado por sus compañeros debido a su excelente labor, reconocido por ser un experto analizando escenas del crimen en asesinatos; una lástima que debido a un accidente este quede en un estado casi que vegetal, donde solo puede mover su boca, sus hombros y su dedo. Rhyme no tiene muchas ganas de vivir y ya tiene un día planeado para su "transición", cosa que se impedirá si en sus manos llegase un caso de su interés. Por el otro lado tenemos a la joven policía Amelia Donaghy, quien se dedica a tratar temas policiales relacionados con menores de edad, como las drogas, hasta que en un día de patrullaje recibe el llamado de un joven, encontrándose en el proceso con un cadáver, en lo que parece ser una escena del crimen montada; Amelia destacará en ese momento por su trabajo impoluto en examinar la escena, siguiendo los consejos de los libros de Lincoln, trabajo que es reconocido por él en persona cuando los dos se dispongan a dar con el asesino (después de técnicamente convencer a Amelia de que sea detective por su potencial), quien tiene como característica principal extraer algún hueso a su víctima. Debido al estado de Lincoln, Amelia es quien hará de sus ojos y guía para completar el trabajo.
The film puts us in the shoes of Lincoln Rhyme, a nearly legendary policeman praised by his colleagues for his excellent work, recognized for being an expert in analyzing crime scenes in murders; it's a shame that due to an accident, he ends up in an almost vegetative state, where he can only move his mouth, his shoulders, and his finger. Rhyme doesn't have much desire to live and already has a planned day for his "transition," something that will be prevented if a case of his interest ends up in his hands. On the other hand, we have the young police officer Amelia Donaghy, who is dedicated to dealing with police issues related to minors, such as drugs, until one day while on patrol she receives a call from a young man, finding herself in the process with a corpse, in what seems to be a staged crime scene; Amelia will stand out at that moment for her immaculate work in examining the scene, following Lincoln's advice from the books, work that is recognized by him in person when they both set out to catch the killer (after technically convincing Amelia to become a detective due to her potential), who has the main characteristic of extracting a bone from his victim. Due to Lincoln's condition, Amelia will be his eyes and guide to complete the job.

Lo que más llega a impresionar es el desarrollo de personajes de los dos protagonistas, quienes pasan de odiarse a complementarse quizás hasta un poco demasiado, no sé si me entiendas. Amelia simplemente no soporta a Lincoln lo llega a considerar casi que un ególatra que solo habla y habla, cree que es alguien que se siente poderoso debido a su estatus, alguien que le gusta señalar con su dedo a los demás lo que no deben hacer y lo que sí. Rhyme de cierta manera, cambia su forma de ver la vida, deja de pensar en la eutanasia conforme va conociendo más y más a Amelia, influyendo también en que parece disfrutar ver ella cómo avanza en su camino como detective. A pesar de todo esto, siento un poco forzada la relación amorosa entre los dos, ocurre inesperadamente, puede que sea la idea pero para mí es el pequeño detalle en contra que le encuentro a la trama. Refiriéndonos al asesino en serie, se siente como una verdadera amenaza, nunca sabrás que hará en su próximo movimiento, además son bastantes interesantes los acertijos que se manejan y ponen a prueba a Lincoln y Amelia. Me gusta la conclusión donde Amelia logra usar sus propias habilidades para finalmente dar con el asesino, es un buen cierre demostrando el desarrollo donde pasa de no poder ver un cadáver a ser alguien perspicaz.
What is most impressive is the character development of the two protagonists, who go from hating each other to complementing each other, maybe a little too much, I don't know if you understand me. Amelia simply can't stand Lincoln and even considers him somewhat of an egotist who only talks and talks. She thinks he is someone who feels powerful because of his status, someone who likes to point his finger at others and tell them what they should and shouldn't do. Rhyme, in a way, changes his way of seeing life, he stops thinking about euthanasia as he gets to know Amelia more and more, also influencing her to seem to enjoy seeing her progress on her path as a detective. Despite all this, I feel that the romantic relationship between the two is a bit forced, it happens unexpectedly, maybe that's the idea but for me, it's the small detail against the plot that I find. Referring to the serial killer, he feels like a real threat, you never know what he will do next, and the riddles that Lincoln and Amelia deal with are quite interesting and put them to the test. I like the conclusion where Amelia manages to use her own skills to finally catch the killer, it's a good ending that demonstrates how she goes from not being able to see a corpse to being perceptive.

El planteamiento se podría considerar como algo sencillo pero que es llevado a cabo a la perfección debido a los actores que salen en pantalla (sinceramente varios me resultan familiares pero en realidad soy malo con los nombres), destacando obviamente el trabajo de Angelina Jolie, quien hace el papel de Amelia, tengo que admitir que prácticamente salí enamorado de esa mujer con esos planos que hacían de su cara, donde destacaban sus ojos, aunque bueno, eso es otro tema pero solo quería decirlo. He de aplaudir de forma rotunda el ritmo en el que se maneja la película, siendo que a pesar de tener dos horas de duración se siente bastante ligera, muy fácil de ver, no se hace en lo absoluto tediosa. Creo que es una fácil recomendación para cualquiera que quiera ver una película de drama policíaco, sencilla de ver a la par de entretenida y con buenos actores.
The approach could be considered something simple but carried out to perfection due to the actors on screen (honestly, several of them seem familiar to me but I'm really bad with names), highlighting Angelina Jolie's work, who plays the role of Amelia, I have to admit that I practically fell in love with that woman with those shots of her face, where her eyes stood out, although well, that's another topic but I just wanted to say it. I must applaud the pace at which the movie is handled, even though it lasts two hours, it feels quite light, very easy to watch, it doesn't become tedious at all. I think it is an easy recommendation for anyone who wants to watch a crime drama movie, simple to watch and at the same time entertaining with good actors.
I saw it in the theater when it was released. I haven't seen it again. I'll have to check it out to refresh my memory and see if it has aged for better or worse.
I honestly had never seen it before but my dad had, I guess I'm too young, hahaha.
Es un verdadero clásico policíaco donde se juega con la capacidad analítica para ir armando el rompecabezas que va dejando el asesino.
Exactamente y justo terminando la película hacen eso mismo, unen los trozos de papel que dejaba el asesino como pista como si de un rompecabezas se tratase para finalmente dar con él; un corto y buen resumen de la película tu comentario.
