Hello everyone!
Talking about this anime is tricky without getting into spoiler territory, so be warned that there will be heavy spoilers about the plot.
Recently I haven't been very connected to the anime world, I may know a couple of friends who are in some cases unhealthily so but I tend to enjoy a good anime every so often, and Edgerunners has to be one of my best experiences.
In case you had any doubts, the anime is based on the video game published by CD Projekt Red which is based on a board game from decades ago, but that's not the important thing lol, the thing is that this anime in a matter of a couple of episodes makes you go from pure adrenaline to a sea of tears.

I loved it, every minute and every chapter, they are short, well designed and the animation and styles connected with me right away.
What is immediately appealing about the series is the city itself and how it's dynamic, in the first few episodes we see that there is a clear separation in each social class and there seems to be no escape if you are among the lowest, you are very close to paying for the air you breathe and it seems that you can't be calm for a second if you don't have a penny in your bank account.
Edgerunners takes that structure about a protagonist who loses all purpose and throws him into the void and puts him together with all sorts of peculiar characters, the so-called Cyberpunks who are something like cyborg mercenaries who have a large part of their bodies modified.
Night City is kind of like the ultimate level of corporate controlled capitalism, there are private armies, corporate espionage and premium subscriptions to services as basic as healthcare, it's ironic that this anime is on Netflix knowing that everything in Night City seems to be subject to some kind of monthly subscription that drastically divides those who can afford it and those who can't, it's a world where anyone would go crazy if I'm honest,
just the first episode was hard for me to watch as some character had a bad day where he had no money and lost absolutely everything.
We have a pivot and starting point in David. who will be our gateway to the underworld as we watch him learn about the Edgerunners business and climb the ranks thanks to his special abilities, there are several twists along the way and each chapter despite lasting something like 20-25 are full of situations and adrenaline in each of them.
Romantic is also another of the topics that often touches this anime, it does it with scenes that stick in your retina and develops very well the relationships until the inevitable end, I highlight the scene in the cloud and several of the relationships that exist in the team.
What about the animation one of my favorite attributes of this series, the fights are a delicacy that even now I love to repeat, the action scenes where there are moments that change to warmer colours that give another air to the city are my favorite scenes, many things of the action and how they detail the moods of the protagonists as well as the madness to which they are submitting with each new technological implant that are installed to the bodies.
The soundtrack is also another thing that has caught my attention, a lot of energy in each of their songs, as if we were listening to the Night City radio and their hits.
Although there is a particular song that gives a huge meaning throughout the chapters, and I can say that I've had my peculiar addiction to listen to it while remembering the wound that left me this anime.
It's a surprising anime, I don't think it reinvents anything but it does connect in a memorable way the cards it holds, the plot and how you can empathize with the main characters has been one of the things that has surprised me the most of this whole journey with David and company.
I don't expect a new season and much less a continuation, I think it's one of those series that you see them and they are perfect by themselves, they represent very well the punk aesthetic that the game yearns for and it enters easily in my top 10 of this year.

Hablar de este anime es complicado sin entrar en el terreno de spoilers, asi que quedan advertidos que habran spoilers pesados sobre la trama.
Recientemente no he estado muy conectado al mundo del anime, quiza conozca un par de amigos que si lo esten de manera hasta en algunos casos enfermiza pero yo suelo disfrutar de un buen anime cada cierto periodo de tiempo, y Edgerunners tiene que ser una de mis mejores experiencias.
Por si tenian dudas el anime se basa en el videojuego publicado por CD Projekt Red que a su vez se basa en un juego de mesa de hace decadas, pero eso no es lo importante lol, la cosa es que este anime en cuestion de un par de episodios te hace pasar de la adrenalina pura a un mar de lagrimas.

Me encanto, cada minuto y cada capitulo, son cortos, bien diseñados y la animacion y los estilos conectaron enseguida conmigo.
Lo que atrae enseguida de la serie es la ciudad en si misma y como es su dinamica, en los primeros episodios vemos que hay una clara separacion en cada clase social y al parecer no hay escape si estas entre las mas bajas, estas muy cerca de estar pagando por el aire que respiras y parece que no puedes estar ni un segundo tranquilo si en tu cuenta de banco no tienes ni un centavo.
Edgerunners agarra esa estructura sobre un protagonista que pierde todo proposito para lanzarlo al vacio y juntarlo con todo tipo de personajes peculiares, los denominados Cyberpunks que son algo asi como mercenarios cyborg que tienen gran parte de su cuerpo modifcado.
Night City es algo asi como el nivel final del capitalismo controlado por corporaciones, hay ejercitos privados, espionaje corporativo y suscripciones premium a servicios tan basicos como la salud, es una ironia que este anime salga en Netflix sabiendo que todo en Night City parece estar sometido a algun tipo de suscripcion mensual que divide de forma muy drastica a los que pueden costearla y a los que no, es un mundo en el que cualquiera se volveria loco si les soy sincero,
solo el primer episodio me costaba ver como algun personaje por un mal dia en donde no tenia dinero perdia absolutamente todo
Tenemos un eje y punto de partida en David. que sera nuestra puerta de entrada a los bajos mundos mientras lo vemos aprender sobre el negocio de los Edgerunners y escalar posiciones gracias a sus habilidades especiales, hay varios giros en el camino y cada capitulo a pesar de durar algo asi como 20-25 estan llenos de situaciones y adrenalina en cada uno de ellos.
Romance tambien es otro de los topicos que toca a menudo este anime, lo hace con escenas que se quedan grabadas en tu retina y desarrolla muy bien las relaciones hasta el inevitable final, destaco la escena en la nube y varias de las relaciones que existen en el equipo.
Y que decir de la animacion uno de los mis atributos preferidos de esta serie, las peleas son un manjar que incluso ahorita me encanta repetir, las escenas de accion en donde hay momentos que cambian a colores mas calidos que le dan otro aire a la ciudad son mis escenas favoritas, muchas cosas de la accion y de como detallan los estados de animo de los protagonistas asi como la locura a la que estan sometiendose con cada nuevo implante tecnologico que se instalan a los cuerpos.
El soundtrack tambien es otra cosa que me ha llamado mucho la atencion, mucha energia en cada una de sus canciones, como si estuviesemos escuchando la radio de Night City y sus exitos
Aunque hay una cancion en particular que le dan un significado enorme a lo largo de los capitulos, y puedo decir que he tenido mi peculiar adiccion a escucharla mientras recuerdo la herida que me dejo este anime.
Es un anime que sorprende, no creo que reinvente nada pero si que conecta de manera memorable las cartas que posee, la trama y como puedes llegar a empatizar con los personajes principales ha sido de lo que mas me ha sorprendido de todo este viaje con David y compañia.
no espero una nueva temporada y mucho menos una continuacion, creo que es de esas series que las ves y son perfectas por si mismas, representan muy bien la estetica punk que anhela el juego y entra facil en mi top 10 de este año.

Esta es una de las seies más perfectas que se han hecho, tiene de todo, y lo tiene de la mejor forma posible que pudieron hacerlo, recuerdo que lloré horrible cuando terminó, ver a Lucy en la luna terminó destrozándome después de tanta tensión acumulada.

Llore y aun me causa escalofrios todo el viaje de David y aunque simpatize con el creo que en el fondo era un adicto mas que no pudo controlarse
