It was a cool evening. After the day's work I was bored at night and was looking for some excitement. The day had been fairly hectic and I needed some relaxation that evening and I decided to watch a movie. After so much contemplation, I decided to watch "The Tomorrow War" and I must confess that it was not what I had expected.
The movie is a 2021 Amazon Prime release and it begins with a scene from the future. The entire city is in chaos as buildings are up in flames and rumble and humans fall from the sky. The events are then taken back to December in 2022 during the World Cup event. Everything seems to be normally until a time portal opens in the football pitch and soldiers from the year 2051 appear from the portal. The soldiers warn humanity that there's a war with aliens in the future and that humanity is losing this war. They state that the aliens are called Whitespikes and that they appear in 2048 and will wipeout humanity in little time.
The story centers on Dan Forester, school teacher and former Green Beret (US Special Forces) who lives with his daughter and wife. He is drafted for the war and sent to the future with several thousands to help stop the war. A series of events unfold and humanity discovers a way to kill all the Whitespikes, but are unable to use that technology in the future. As a result of this, Dan and a few others are sent back to the future with this solution but is unable to stop the inevitable annihilation of humanity in the future. The solution to kill the aliens arrives safely and is mass produced in wait for the aliens to attack.
The survivors that make it back to present time are reunited with their families. Dan is shaken after experiencing horrible events, and promises to protect his daughter from such a situation at all cost. He and a few others discover the root of the alien invasion in present time, and decide to put an end to the impending doom before the aliens get the chance to strike.
What do I love about this movie?
This movie was very fun to watch. I really liked how the story was very straight to the point. There was never a dull moment in the movie and there were no "extra" scenes. The build up to the story was very straight forward.
I also loved the performance of the actors in this movie. Chris Pratt plays Dan Forester and he delivers this role perfectly. J.K. Simmons plays the role of James Daniel Forester, who is the father of Dan Forester, and is one of the comic roles in the movie.

I also believe Sam Richardson played his role very well and I promise that anyone who watches this movie would receive a decent amount of laughs from his character. I also loved the role that Mike Mitchell played in this movie as one of the civilians who were drafted for the war.
This movie is an action-packed sci-fi movie. It is what people call "a popcorn movie" as it would keep you glued to your seats (or bed, which ever you prefer) and deliver so much entertainment without any deep meaning or hidden messages. The CGI is also amazing and the screenplay delivers this story in a satisfactory fashion.
What do I dislike about this movie?
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! Some people might say I'm being a bit too soft on this movie, but I said what I said. Some people might also say that the story was rushed, but in my opinion it wasn't. The story entails an atmosphere of urgency, and as such, most scenes are developed with that urgency as the centre of the narrative, giving certain viewers the feeling of an underdeveloped plot (which isn't the true case.......maybe).
Are there a lot of "stupid" logic in this movie? Yes, I agree. So many things seem not to make sense. I wouldn't want to start listing some of these things that didn't make sense cause a lot of spoilers would be involved, but I'd rather leave it for other viewers to state themselves.
Final thoughts
I believe that this movie is a must watch. If we can leave a lot of logic behind (I mean we shouldn't think too much about it), the movie would be very enjoyable. I specifically like how Dan Forester gets to give his father a chance after realizing in the future that he (Dan) does the exact same thing he despises his father for.

El día había sido bastante ajetreado y necesitaba un poco de relajación esa noche y decidí ver una película. Después de tanta contemplación, decidí ver "The Tomorrow War" y debo confesar que no era lo que esperaba.
La película es un lanzamiento de Amazon Prime de 2021 y comienza con una escena del futuro. La ciudad entera está en caos mientras los edificios están en llamas y retumban y los humanos caen del cielo. Luego, los eventos se remontan a diciembre de 2022 durante el evento de la Copa del Mundo. Todo parece normal hasta que se abre un portal del tiempo en el campo de fútbol y del portal aparecen soldados del año 2051. Los soldados advierten a la humanidad que hay una guerra con extraterrestres en el futuro y que la humanidad está perdiendo esta guerra. Afirman que los extraterrestres se llaman Whitespikes y que aparecen en 2048 y acabarán con la humanidad en poco tiempo.
La historia se centra en Dan Forester, maestro de escuela y ex Boina Verde (Fuerzas Especiales de EE. UU.) que vive con su hija y su esposa. Lo reclutan para la guerra y lo envían al futuro con varios miles para ayudar a detener la guerra. Como resultado de esto, Dan y algunos otros son enviados de regreso al futuro con esta solución, pero no pueden detener la inevitable aniquilación de la humanidad en el futuro. La solución para matar a los alienígenas llega a salvo y se produce en masa a la espera de que los alienígenas ataquen.
Los sobrevivientes que logran regresar al tiempo presente se reúnen con sus familias. Dan está conmocionado después de experimentar eventos horribles y promete proteger a su hija de tal situación a toda costa. Esta película es una película de ciencia ficción llena de acción. Es lo que la gente llama "una película de palomitas de maíz", ya que lo mantendría pegado a sus asientos (oa la cama, lo que prefiera) y brindaría mucho entretenimiento sin ningún significado profundo o mensajes ocultos. El CGI también es increíble y el guión presenta esta historia de manera satisfactoria.
¿Qué es lo que no me gusta de esta película?
¡¡ABSOLUTAMENTE NADA!! Algunas personas pueden decir que estoy siendo demasiado suave con esta película, pero dije lo que dije. Algunas personas también podrían decir que la historia fue apresurada, pero en mi opinión no fue así. La historia implica una atmósfera de urgencia y, como tal, la mayoría de las escenas se desarrollan con esa urgencia como centro de la narración, dando a ciertos espectadores la sensación de una trama subdesarrollada (que no es el caso real... quizás).
¿Hay mucha lógica "estúpida" en esta película? Sí estoy de acuerdo. Tantas cosas parecen no tener sentido. No me gustaría comenzar a enumerar algunas de estas cosas que no tienen sentido porque habría muchos spoilers involucrados, pero prefiero dejar que otros espectadores lo digan por sí mismos.
Pensamientos finales
Yo creo que esta película es una película que hay que ver. Si podemos dejar atrás mucha lógica (quiero decir que no debemos pensar demasiado en eso), la película sería muy agradable. Me gusta específicamente cómo Dan Forester le da una oportunidad a su padre después de darse cuenta en el futuro de que él (Dan) hace exactamente lo mismo por lo que desprecia a su padre.
Considerándolo todo, miren la película y háganme saber lo que piensan. Si ya la has visto, por favor, también me encantaría saber tu opinión sobre la película.
¿Thriller o fastidio? Creo que es el thriller para ti si estás desanimado. Simplemente no lo tomes demasiado personalmente (POR FAVOR).

Para mí fue una de las peores películas que vi el año pasado,es para nada original y eso es lo que menos me ha gustado.
Se que tendrá secuela y espero que por lo menos está vez puedan hacer un mejor film.

He visto todos estos excepto "Snake Eye". Estoy de acuerdo, muy decepcionante.

Este film también lo incluí en mi lista de las peores del año pasado, pero a mucha gente l e gusto, fue un éxito para Amazon Prime. Por supuesto que ya estan trabajando en una secuela. tengo una curiosidad ¿en tu país hablan español? ¿o publicas en español con el traductor? ¿es para practicar el español?

Vi la película el año pasado, no considero que haya sido la peor que vi ese pasado, ese puesto se lo dejo a rápido y furioso 9.
Pienso que esta película es entretenida a demás que me encanta Chris Pratt.

I really think this movie is good. Because of the criticism all over Twitter last year, I kept this movie on hold because I thought for sure it would be absolutely. However, when I saw it, man I was impressed. Not a bad watch at all.
Exactly. The reviews are bad but the movie isn't as bad as people say it is.
