Como están el día de hoy? Yo super feliz de volver a esta comunidad para comentarles un poco sobre mi opinión acerca de una película bastante extraña a mi parecer, pero que tiene su buena trama. Esta película la vi en mis clases de inglés, en una actividad que estaban realizando. La película estuvo únicamente en inglés, claramente, pero aún así la entendí perfectamente. Sin más, quiero contarles un poco que me ha parecido esta película y también me gustaría escuchar sus opiniones
How are you today? I am super happy to come back to this community to tell you a little bit about my opinion about a movie that is quite strange in my opinion, but it has a good plot. I saw this movie in my English classes, in an activity they were doing. The movie was only in English, clearly, but I still understood it perfectly. Without further ado, I would like to tell you a little bit about what I thought of this movie and I would also like to hear your opinions.
Barbarian
Desde el momento donde comencé a verla, pude notar como la película busca despistarte, haciéndote pensar en falsos enemigos y en falsos escenarios donde pasan ciertos sucesos. Todo transcurre en un sótano, el cual es bastante horrible, y a medida que se desarrolla la película, vamos entendiendo cada cuarto y espacio de este sótano. Les recomiendo verla antes de leer esta opinión, pero si deciden leerla igual bienvenidos sean
From the moment I started watching it, I could notice how the movie tries to mislead you, making you think of false enemies and false scenarios where certain events happen. Everything takes place in a basement, which is quite horrible, and as the film develops, we understand each room and space of this basement. I recommend you to watch it before reading this review, but if you decide to read it, you are still welcome to read it.
A nivel actoral, me pareció que los protagonistas hicieron un muy buen trabajo, demostrándonos en casa escena el miedo y ma angustia que puede sentirse en una situación de secuestro como esta, un secuestro nada convencional.
On an acting level, I thought the main characters did a very good job, showing us in every scene the fear and anguish that can be felt in a kidnapping situation like this, a kidnapping not at all conventional.
Esta película por alguna razón me recordó un poco a la llorona, típica leyenda latinoamericana la cual es una madre en busca interminable de sus hijos. Bajo este contexto, la película me pudo dar esos destellos de parecido.
This movie for some reason reminded me a little bit of La Llorona, a typical Latin American legend which is a mother in endless search of her children. Under this context, the film was able to give me those glimpses of resemblance.
La mujer que vivía en el sótano, la cual entendemos que ella también fue secuestrada me pareció muy bien representada y caracterizada, realmente logro darle a la audiencia ese miedo y cierto desagrado al verla en lo que se había convertido después de tanto tiempo en su situación. Me pareció un poco perturbante pensar en cómo tiene ciertas cosas que posee en su refugio, pero trate de no prestarle mucha atención a eso.
The woman who lived in the basement, which we understand she was also kidnapped I thought was very well portrayed and characterized, she really managed to give the audience that fear and some distaste seeing her what she had become after so long in her situation. I found it a little disturbing to think about how she has certain things she owns in her shelter, but try not to pay too much attention to that.
El ambiente donde transcurren los hechos, ese pequeño vecindario abandonado, me pareció la vibra exacta que debía tener una historia del estilo. No terminé entendiendo muy bien la razón para que los demás vecinos se fueran, pero de igual manera era el lugar y momento perfecto para que transcurrieran los hechos. Algo que no entendí tampoco, es como esta mujer pudo vivir ahí sin que nadie sospechara de su existencia, o sin que nadie se preguntara la razón por la cual las personas que se hospedaban en esa casa desaparecían sin dejar rastro.
The environment where the events take place, that small abandoned neighborhood, seemed to me the exact vibe that a story like this should have. I didn't quite understand the reason for the other neighbors to leave, but it was still the perfect place and time for the events to take place. Something I didn't understand either, is how this woman could live there without anyone suspecting her existence, or without anyone wondering the reason why the people who stayed in that house disappeared without a trace.
Me hice varias preguntas a lo largo de la pelicula, si esa mujer es un mounstro ¿Quien limpia la casa de arriba para que los huéspedes se queden? ¿Quien suple la casa de alimentos? ¿Quien paga la luz, el agua, el gas, y los servicios básicos? ¿El mounstro aprendió a usar la página de AirBnB para publicar la casa? Muchas preguntas y pocas respuestas, supongo que simplemente debo tomarlo como una película de ficción sin fijarme mucho en esos detalles para lograr disfrutarla
I asked myself several questions throughout the movie, if that woman is a monster, who cleans the house upstairs for the guests to stay? Who supplies the house with food? Who pays the electricity, water, gas, and basic services? Did the monster learn how to use the AirBnB page to publish the house? Many questions and few answers, I guess I just have to take it as a fictional movie without paying too much attention to those details to enjoy it.
La película, como ya lo comenté, la vi en un salón con algunas otras personas que también ven curso de inglés conmigo u en otros salones. Habían algunos adolecentes que hablaban mucho en medio de la pelicula, y hacían la experiencia un poco más extraña, pero entendí rápidamente que simplemente son chicos, y que eso es muy normal a esa edad, por ello decidí ignorarlo.
The movie, as I already mentioned, I watched it in a room with some other people who also watch English courses with me or in other rooms. There were some teenagers who talked a lot in the middle of the movie, and made the experience a little more strange, but I quickly understood that they are just kids, and that this is very normal at that age, so I decided to ignore it.
La película en sí no me disgusto, me hizo salirme un poco de la realidad pensar ciertas cosas que no entendía, pero realmente no me disgusto. Al final de la pelicula podemos entender que este mounstro, que claramente es una mujer, solamente quería lo que nunca tuvo, una vida normal con hijos, pero este hombre que la secuestro, le arrebato todo esto
I didn't dislike the movie itself, it made me get a little out of reality thinking about certain things I didn't understand, but I didn't really dislike it. At the end of the movie we can understand that this monster, who is clearly a woman, only wanted what she never had, a normal life with children, but this man who kidnapped her, took all this away from her.
