¿Cómo están el día de hoy? Yo muy feliz y con muchas ganas de desearles una feliz Navidad a todos. Ya hoy, siendo víspera de Nochebuena, tengo muchas ganas de hablar sobre un pequeño corto que vi hace unos días, de la famosa películas de Shrek, las cuales desde el año 2001 hemos podido ver muy presentes en el cine general.

En esta ocasión quiero hablar de un pequeño especial navideño que saco DreamWorks por estas fechas tan lindas, el cual es simplemente maravilloso. Sin más que comentar, hoy quiero dar un pequeño resume de este título y además de todo, quiero hablar de lo que entendí de él

Para entrarlos en contexto, nuestro protagonista Shrek al ser un ogro, no tiende a celebrar ninguna festividad que involucre algún tipo de felicidad. En este corto tememos muy presente a burro, el cual le insiste que ya pronto es navidad y que debe hacer muchas cosas por esta fecha especial
To put it in context, our protagonist Shrek, being an ogre, does not tend to celebrate any holiday that involves any kind of happiness. In this short film we have a very present donkey, who insists that Christmas is coming and that he must do many things for this special date.
Shrek al hartarse de burro, le dice que él no quiere celebrar nada y que así será, hasta que cambia de opinión por su hermosa esposa Fiona, la cual está muy feliz de que sus 3 pequeños bebés festejen su primera Navidad de forma hermosa.
When Shrek gets fed up with Donkey, he tells him that he doesn't want to celebrate anything and that's the way it will be, until he changes his mind because of his beautiful wife Fiona, who is very happy that their 3 little babies are celebrating their first Christmas in a beautiful way.
Aquí es cuando Shrek busca hasta en libros como debe celebrarse una buena navidad, encontrando así ciertos relatos que debe contar y cosas que debe hacer para que su familia tenga una hermosa navidad

Este pequeño corto de 28 minutos, se trata de observar como nuestro protagonista busca desesperadamente realizar la mejor navidad posible, mientras burro le arruina sus sueños, llevando ese lindo día, a todos sus amigos en común, a la casa de Shrek para que no solo sea un día de amigos, sino también muy familiar

Nuestro ogro no logra soportar todos estos ruidos y ambiente tan concurrido, y decide acabar la fiesta de muy mala manera. Mientras todos sus amigos se van, Fiona también se va con ellos, ya que se decepciona de Shrek por no poner esfuerzo en que fuera una buena navidad
Our ogre can't stand all this noise and crowded atmosphere, and decides to end the party in a very bad way. While all his friends leave, Fiona also leaves with them, as she is disappointed in Shrek for not making an effort to make it a good Christmas.
Luego de ciertas escenas y algunas disculpas, Shrek logra recuperar a sus amigos y a su familia, y termina pasando una navidad preciosa con historias fantásticas y con una comida deliciosa
After some scenes and some apologies, Shrek manages to get his friends and family back, and ends up having a beautiful Christmas with fantastic stories and delicious food.
Mi opinión
No hay que ser personas observadoras o ver el corto varias veces para darse cuenta del mensaje principal de esta trama. La navidad no se trata de los regalos, de lo que uno sienta del ambiente, o de personas en específico. La navidad se trata de descontrol, de compartir, de celebrar un día al año, en el cual todos pueden compartir una comida y estar reunidos en la mesa
You don't have to be an observant person or watch the short film several times to realize the main message of this plot. Christmas is not about presents, about what you feel about the atmosphere, or about specific people. Christmas is about being out of control, about sharing, about celebrating one day a year when everyone can share a meal and be together at the table.
Este mensaje no fue nada fácil para Shrek. Aunque todo lo que he dicho es cierto, tenemos que tomar en cuenta que nuestro protagonista viene de un entorno solitario y malhumorado, donde ningún día era motivo para estar felices. En estos pocos 28 minutos, vemos un desarrollo de personaje increíble, el cual sucede por el descontento de su familia, al Shrek pensar que las cosas tenían un camino.
This message was not an easy one for Shrek. While everything I've said is true, we have to take into account that our protagonist comes from a lonely and moody background, where no day was a reason to be happy. In these few 28 minutes, we see an incredible character development, which happens because of his family's discontent, as Shrek thought things had a way.
En el corto, Shrek se la pasa leyendo un libro informativo sobre qué es la navidad. El cual considero que es útil si quieres aprender de una tradición que no es tuya. Pero también debes entender que cada persona lo celebra diferente, a su manera. Lo importante es poder pasar un buen día y compartir lo que todos tengamos, para lograr que sea un día hermoso
In the short, Shrek spends his time reading an informative book about what Christmas is all about. Which I think is useful if you want to learn about a tradition that is not your own. But you also have to understand that everyone celebrates it differently, in their own way. The important thing is to be able to have a good day and share what we all have, to make it a beautiful day.
Uno de mis personajes favoritos en este corto y en todas las películas es burro. Todos sabemos que burro es algo ingenuo y a veces muy tonto, pero el siempre hace las cosas con el mejor humor del mundo y con ganas de ayudar a los demás. Burro aquí solo busco de darle una familia a Shrek para que pueda celebrar navidad, ya que este nunca lo había hecho. Personalmente amo las lindas cartas que repartió burro a todos sus amigos, son demasiado graciosas
One of my favorite characters in this short and in all the movies is Donkey. We all know that Donkey is somewhat naive and sometimes very silly, but he always does things with the best humor in the world and with the desire to help others. Donkey here is just trying to give Shrek a family so he can celebrate Christmas, since he has never done it before. Personally I love the cute letters that Donkey gave to all his friends, they are too funny.
Otro personaje que no deja de sorprender, es la galleta de jengibre, la cual describe con horror y miedo absoluto a el hombre barbon que se viste de rojo (santa), la que este se come las galletas que le dejan los niños, y seguramente se lo terminará comiendo a él también
Another character that never ceases to amaze, is the gingerbread cookie, which describes with horror and absolute fear of the barbon man who dresses in red (Santa), which eats the cookies that the children leave him, and surely will end up eating him too.
Otra cosa que me gustó mucho de este pequeño corto, es como decoraron la casa al momento que todos sus amigos fueron a ayudarle con una buena decoración. Por fuera y por dentro me parece que tiene un estilo único y cual irradia una calidad navidad
Another thing I really liked about this little short film, is how they decorated the house when all his friends came to help him with a nice decoration. Outside and inside it seems to me that it has a unique style and it radiates a Christmas quality.
Siempre me ha gustado las películas de Shrek, y de verdad considero que en este se lucieron y por mucho. Los especiales navideños de cualquier serie siempre buscan de sorprender y causar nuevas emociones en los televidentes. Recomiendo muchísima verla en esta víspera de noche buena, para reírte un ratico y distraerte de el mundo exterior
I've always liked the Shrek movies, and I really think they did a great job on this one. The Christmas specials of any series always seek to surprise and cause new emotions in the viewers. I highly recommend watching it this Christmas Eve to have a good laugh and distract yourself from the outside world.

Hola. Estoy deseoso de ver ese corto. En general me divierten mucho las películas y cortos sobre esa trama y sus personajes. En específico Burro y el Gato con botas... Ya esos son de otra liga.
