Oso Intoxicado
Cocaine BearExisten muchas historias casi imposibles de que sean ciertas, es necesario ver para creerlo. Tal es el caso ocurrido en el año 1985 en Estados Unidos, cuando un oso negro consumió una cantidad impensable de cocaína valorada en 20 millones de dólares aproximadamente. Y es que el narcotraficante Andrew C. Thorton II pretendía ingresar las drogas al territorio norteamericano pero sus planes sufrieron un revés. El hombre decidió saltar con el cargamento de drogas pero en una mala jugada del destino su paracaídas no abrió causando la muerte de Andrew al instante. Todo esto ocurrió en Knoxville, Tennessee en Diciembre de ese año. Las autoridades de la localidad encontraron el cuerpo de aquel paracaidista pero nunca encontraron el bolso con drogas. Sin embargo después de unos meses fue encontrado un oso negro muerto, cuando los expertos realizaron la autopsia descubrieron cocaína en el estomago del espécimen. Una vez fueron atados los cabos se llego a la conclusión de que aquel oso había consumido el cargamento de Thorton.
There are many stories that are almost impossible to be true, it is necessary to see it to believe it. Such is the case of 1985 in the United States, when a black bear consumed an unthinkable amount of cocaine valued at approximately 20 million dollars. Drug trafficker Andrew C. Thorton II intended to bring the drugs into the United States, but his plans suffered a setback. The man decided to jump with the cargo of drugs but in a bad twist of fate his parachute didn't open, causing Andrew's death instantly. All this happened in Knoxville, Tennessee in December of that year. The local authorities found the body of that parachutist but never found the bag with drugs. However, after a few months a dead black bear was found, when experts performed an autopsy they discovered cocaine in the stomach of the specimen. Once all the pieces were tied up, it was concluded that the bear had consumed Thorton's shipment.
La Historia es casi sacada de una caricatura muy sangrienta. Elizabeth puso a prueba sus habilidades de dirección, se esfuerza en darnos escenas gore y terror con una narrativa llena de sub tramas que convergen pero el tono humorístico de la película en vez de asustar termina cayendo en lo gracioso. Pero sin duda es emocionante ver todas esas escenas surrealistas en donde un oso ataca sin control solo para seguir consumiendo drogas. No confíes en las malas críticas de los expertos, esta película es cine.
The story is almost straight out of a bloody cartoon. Elizabeth put her directing skills to the test, she tries hard to give us gore and horror scenes with a narrative full of subplots that converge but the humorous tone of the film instead of scaring ends up falling into the funny. But it is certainly exciting to see all those surreal scenes where a bear attacks uncontrollably just to continue consuming drugs. Don't trust the bad reviews of the experts, this movie is cinema.
Lo ocurrido con el oso había sido casi olvidado e incluso era poco conocido por el resto del mundo. (yo no podria haber imaginado este escenario en mi vida) pero gracias a que el guionista vio la cronica en un post de twitter decidio escribir el guion del proyecto.
What happened with the bear had been almost forgotten and even little known by the rest of the world (I could not have imagined this scenario in my life) but thanks to the screenwriter who saw the chronicle in a twitter post, he decided to write the script for the project.
Es un pájaro... es un avión... es Brightburn
Todos conocemos la historia de superman, el hombre que llego del espacio y fue criado por humanos en una granja. Allí aprendió todo lo necesario para ser un ciudadano ejemplar. Hasta que un día descubre que tiene poderes como: súper fuerza, la habilidad de volar, laser disparados por los ojos, visión de rayos X entre otros ¿Hasta ahora todo bien, cierto? Es superman… pero que pasaría si la historia fuera diferente?
We all know the story of Superman, the man who came from space and was raised by humans on a farm. There he learned everything he needed to be an exemplary citizen. Until one day he discovers he has powers such as: super strength, the ability to fly, lasers shot out of his eyes, X-ray vision, among others... So far so good, right? He's Superman... but what if the story were different?
Brightburn es una película adaptado a la historia de Superman el héroe más popular de todos los tiempos al terror. Como cualquier película de extraterrestres, este film no se aleja del concepto: un ser llega a la tierra desde el espacio exterior, puede ser bueno como "E.T" o malvados como los marcianos de "Mars Attack". La gran ventaja de Brightburn es la base de donde viene la idea principal: que pasaría si superman fuera malvado? Y la película logra el propósito principal. en esta ocasión el que pudo llegar a ser el héroe tiene el protagónico y se convierte en villano.
Brightburn is a film adapted from the story of Superman the most popular hero of all time to horror. Like any alien movie, this film doesn't stray from the concept: a being arrives on earth from outer space, it can be good like E.T. or evil like the Martians from Mars Attack. The great advantage of Brightburn is the base where the main idea comes from: what if Superman was evil? And the film achieves the main purpose. This time the one who could have been the hero has the lead role and becomes the villain.

A mí me encanto Brightburn, y me encataría que ese universo fuese expandido. Es una de las historias de súper poderes que espero algún día tenga una continuación o un spin off.
No esperaba un comentario de alguien queriendo una continuación así como Yo. Si de por sí sola la película queda en una evidente continuación. Pero lo único que tenemos de material para conocer que ocurre con el personaje de Brandon Breyer son los comics publicados.
