Semana santa ha terminado y con ella se fue el tiempo libre de vacaciones espero que hayan disfrutado lo suficiente yendo a la playa, viajando, compartiendo con familiares o estando en casa viendo buenas películas (a veces suelen ser muy malas). Yo preferí quedarme en casa disfrutando del séptimo arte y encontré con una película proveniente de Brasil y obviamente tenía que compartirles mis impresiones a todos ustedes.
I don't know about you, but in the past it was very rare for me to watch movies in a language other than Spanish or English, maybe because of the Hollywood influence in America. If you ask me now that I have grown up, I can say with a lot of confidence that Hollywood is not everything.

In the world there are many languages and stories to tell, many times those stories come to us through the magic of cinema, such is the case of the Brazilian movie I watched yesterday based on the real life of an athlete, a true champion in his discipline that I did not know.
En el mundo hay muchos idiomas e historias que contar, muchas veces esas historias llegan a nosotros atreves de la magia del cine, tal es el caso de la película Brasilera que vi ayer basada en la vida real de un atleta, un verdadero campeón en su disciplina que yo no conocía.

Entitled: "O Faixa Petra (Black Belt)" tells the story of Fernando Augusto da Silva, better known as "Fernando Tererê", a Jiu-Jitsu master who won several world, national and Pan-American championships. Fernando's childhood was spent in the favelas of Brazil where he practiced capoeira and sold drugs but he showed real interest in jiu-jitsu but his family insisted that it was not going to generate anything good because of the elites of the discipline and also because of the costs of practicing the sport but that didn't stop the young Tererê from achieving his goal, disobeying his mother and accompanied by a cousin enrolled in classes anyway as they had been invited by masters with their own gym.

A partir de allí y hasta el año 2004 logro muchas victorias importantes en su carrera que lo hicieron muy popular en su favela y todo el territorio brasileño. Estaba en la cima de su carrera.
But like any story of self-improvement there will always be a dark period and this film is no exception. Back in Brazil, once free of the problems in the USA, Fernando would continue with his addiction and move further and further away from his passion for jiu-jitsu, the same passion that had earned him the respect of the favela for having helped many children to fight for their dreams with training and activities related to their abilities. But respect would not get him out of addiction and his attitude was changing for the worse with increasing speed.
De vuelta en Brasil una vez librado de los problemas en EUA Fernando continuaría con su adicción y alejándose cada vez más de su pasión por el jiu-jitsu, misma pasión que lo había hecho merecedor del respeto de la favela por haber ayudado muchos niños a luchar por sus sueños con entrenamientos y actividades referentes a sus capacidades. Pero el respeto no lo sacaría de la adicción y la actitud cambiaba para mal con mayor velocidad.
After all the problems, he is taken to doctors who diagnose him with schizophrenia. All seemed to be lost again at this point in his trajectory as the doctors indicated that the disease could not be cured. At one point in his life Fernando even considered suicide to take away the suffering of his family for his behaviors. The man who was once at the top of the mountain of success was now in an abyss.

Fortunately Tererê had his family, they always gave him the support he needed even though he did not want to receive it at first. One day everyone was worried because Fernando was not in his room, in the middle of the concern everyone ran to look for him to everyone's surprise, Fernando was waiting for them outside the house wearing his jiu-jitsu uniform ready to return to training.

At the end of the film, after a lot of hard work, he manages to recover the enthusiasm and energy that always characterized him. The film ends with a meeting between Fernando and another fighter we had previously seen in the favelas and who was selling him drugs. But Fermando had inspired him to become a fighter. The master, as he was called, was back on top.
Después de un arduo trabajo logra recuperar el entusiasmo y energía que siempre lo caracterizo. La película termina en un encuentro entre Fernando y otro luchador que habíamos visto previamente en las favelas y le vendía drogas. Pero fermando lo habia inspirado de convertirse en peleador. El maestro, como era llamado estaba de vuelta en la cima.
The main attraction of this film is that it is based on true events. The human being is curious by nature, and the lives of renowned public figures will always seem inspiring to us. And when it comes to sports the interest increases, that's how I watched this movie, I like sports stories.
El principal atractivo de esta película es que está basado en hechos reales. El ser humano es curioso por naturaleza, y la vida de las figuras públicas de renombre siempre nos parecerán inspiradoras. Y cuando se trata de deporte el interés aumenta, así fue como vi esta película, me gustan las historias deportivas.
However, not everything is perfect, there are certain situations that the film doesn't know how to handle, such as the scene where Fernando goes back to Brazil from the United States and the flight attendants don't understand the language. I find it quite curious that in an air trip the crew does not have a single person who knows the language of the country where they land. Maybe I am overreacting but that is my opinion, another similar situation that they didn't know how to control is the scenes of the drug problem, the truth is that it felt very overacted by the chosen actor.
Sin embargo no todo es perfecto, hay ciertas situaciones que la película no sabe manejar, como la escena donde Fernando va de vuelta a Brasil desde estados unidos y las sobrecargo no entendían el idioma. Me parece bastante curioso que en un viaje aéreo la tripulación no haya una sola persona que sepa el idioma del país donde aterrizaran. Quizás estoy exagerando pero es mi pensar, otra situación similar que no supieron controlar son las escenas del problema de drogas, la verdad se sintió muy sobreactuado por parte del actor elegido.
