A few months now, the internet has been popping with the name "Alchemy of Souls".
Common terminologies like "Soul-shifters", "Mages", Naksu ( The shadow Goddess) are all flying around the spaces.
Maybe someone already mentioned it to your ears or while you're gallivanting your Netflix, you saw the good looking cover design and wonder if this movie is truly worth your time.
Well, let's find out - Should you stream Alchemy of Souls or Skip it?
How did it all start?
You remember those badass movies ? I mean those ones with the good and bad people fighting for something?
Yeah, I guess your mind is mind mapping one or two movies with same theme.
Alchemy of Souls also had something like that to begin with but a little different. The first scene was a beauty young lady with her hair packed and her eyes indicating death bounced into a river which has turned ice ( Her name is Naksu - The Assassin Goodness who has mastered the skills of various Mages).
Mages are top ranked elders ( Not particularly age) who have mastered different magics spells starting from the first spell.

‘Jipsu’ is the first level a mage must master in ‘Alchemy of Souls’

Jipsu is the first spell every one who wants to be amongst the highly ranked mages must master. ( Jipsu required being able to use your inherent power to control the water to your will). Got it?
After mastering the Jipsu with your power gate ( In Alchemy of Souls, Power gate is a terminology used to describe the inherent power in a person. Practically when the gate is shut, you can't use your power, you can't master any spell until the gate is opened). Clear enough? Great 🥰

But this is a review not a beauty Contest. We'll talk about the remaining spells to be mastered soon. let's continue the intro.
The first scene is a lady called Naksu who have mastered all four Spells and she is about to go against some sets of people. They all are mages with different skill power.

According to the narrative, Naksu already conquered others before getting to the final bus-stop of killing those who she thought had murdered her parents.

Did she win? Yeah, she killed a lot but got seriously injured so she had to run for safety to fight another day.
Here's where things gets a little tipsy with Excitement.
In alchemy of Souls, one of the things that made the movie fantastic is that, you can shift your soul from your body into another .
Yeah😭, you heard me.
It's called Soul Shifting - They make use of the soul ejectors, whereby you find a body that can withstand your type of energy and exchange bodies.
This is done when the body is badly injured and can't recover so you find someone around and just switch up their bodies with yours.
Or when you want to make another bear the sins you committed.
Oh ! a lot of dramas happened because of this.
Here's the bigger Bang !
The great Naksu soul shifted into the wrong body. At that moment she was about to be killed she had no choice than to shift into the body she could find.
She shifted into a weak blind young lady who doesn't even have the energy to lift a bag of salt.
Jeez ! You mean the great Naksu has to manage the body of a lady who can't fight . That was the pain she had to face. But that's where another interesting plot came in.

should I press further? Nah ! I wouldn't want to be a movie spoiler. But, I won't leave you salivating for more. Let's check out a few cast then I tip you about one or two more scenes.

Great Cast that made the movie appealing 🥰🥰🥰
1. JANG UK & MU DEOK
The image speaks chemistry right ? I mean it seems there's a little intimacy going on there.
That's Jang UK and Mu DEOK . Mudeok is the blind lady I spoke about who Naksu Shifted her soul into.
JANG UK is that promised child who was born under the shinning star, proclaimed to be a special one.
There was a lot of dramas around him. HE WAS THE FIRST ONE TO KNOW THAT NAKSU LIVES INSIDE THE BLIND LADY WHO MYSTERIOUSLY GOT HER SIGHT BACK.
Naksu who is now mudeok also have some mysteries to her birth that she wasn't aware about. YOU'LL GET TO FIND THAT OUT.

Fortunately, UK and Mudeok became close friends, Mentors and mentees. MUDEOK trained him to master using magic so she can as well unlock her own power because she lost it when she shifted into a weak body.

There's a trend about soul shifters. They always go wild with time ( Wild means they shrink, almost looking like a stone) for them to look human back, they need to feed on the soul of another.

I mean for them to live, they have got to sniff out life out of another to stay healthy again.
UK mission became tough as he learns, tries to protect his master from going wild and as well building a love bond.
UK at first couldn't use his power because his gate was shut by his father. With the help of MUDEOK he was able to open the gate.
2. Seo Yul
Seo Yul is my second favourite cast. He fights so well. You can call him the silver spoon of the family.
He also fell in love with MUDEOK. At first I had thought he would fight UK over MUDEOK but he seemed more matured than I had thought.
He has also mastered all of the spells and he isn't one of the top mages.
3. So Yi
I had to bypass a lot of cast to speak about this young lady. Her acting skills did "wow" me.
I love the fact that she could play blind and still never get caught.
She is a pick pocket from the same village as Mudeok. She never knew Naksu Shifted into Mudeok, a good explanation why Mudeok could not Recognize her.

She also fell in love with seo Yul who once helped her when she was caught by those she picked pocket from.
She knows a secret about the real "MUDEOK" that no one knew until close to the end.
She had to fight to stay alive after being caught up with her own tricks.
With the current situation, I think her ticket to escaping death will be seo Yul who has finally known in a battle scene that she isn't blind, she only pretended to be.
There are many more interesting cast I would love to mention from different families but I should keep that for your to get familiar with the movies well.
The above cast are my favorite, because they are great in the movies and they are as well beautiful.
I guess I'll be a consistent K-drama fan because of the pretty faces I see each time.

‘Ryusu’ allows a mage to gain energy from a flow of water
This is a good one if you have it. You can boostly break the pride of a lot in the country with this alone but aside Jipsu and Ryusu, there are two more.

‘Chisu’ is also one of the most challenging stages to master in ‘Alchemy of Souls’ only a few mages mastered it. One of which is (Seo Yul, Naksu and other lead mages).

Another isn't much of a spell, it's a type of swordsmanship named "Tansu".

Only a few mages have mastered this as well ( UK is one it the mages who have successfully mastered it, with the help of MUDEOK and Master Lee)
What's my thought about the movie?
If you ask me, the movie is a blast with different actors playing the roles in the best possible ways. A kudos to the cast and the director for a brilliant piece.
It's a must Watch K-drama. I call it a "blast of various emotions, skills, lifestyle and imaginations).
