Bienvenidos a un nuevo post para los amantes del cine y de las series, hoy hare una "review" de la pelicula "La odisea de los giles", para seguir el ritmo de peliculas/series Argentinas, en donde tocan lo mas profundo del ser, con humor y con violencia, esta pelicula cuenta la historia de unos ciudadanos de un pueblo que quieren armar una cooperativa en el 2001, año en donde gobernadores hicieron un negocio a costa del sufrimiento del pueblo. Welcome to a new post for film and TV series lovers! Today I'll be reviewing the movie "La odisea de los giles" (The Heist of the Century), continuing my series on Argentine films and series that touch on the deepest aspects of our being with humor and violence. This film tells the story of some citizens in a small town who want to start a cooperative in 2001, the year in which governors profited at the expense of the people's suffering. You can watch it on Netflix.

Esta historia me choco mucho, pero tiene un final feliz (aunque no vale todo el sufrimiento vivido), el ver como aquel ladron es robado te da una sensacion de una rica venganza. Este grupo de ciudadanos quieren armar una cooperativa para dar trabajo y lograr aumentar la vision de un pueblo lejado, pero el banco y sus dirigentes politicos son quienes le traen una sorpresa amarga

This story really shocked me, but it has a happy ending (although it wasn't worth all the suffering). Seeing that thief get robbed gives you a feeling of sweet revenge. This group of citizens wants to form a cooperative to create jobs and improve the outlook of their remote town, but the bank and its political leaders are the ones who bring them a bitter surprise.

Cuando un deseo te mueve, vale todo sacrificio, pero esta historia remite a un tragico momento que todos los Argentinos vivieron, cuando se enteraron que todos los ahorros que tenian (de todos los integrantes de la cooperativa) en una misma cuenta, y que esa misma cuenta no podia ser usada unicamente (si no mal recuerdo, 100 dolares al mes) una cantidad brutamente menor a la que ellos colocaron, se sintieron mas que estafados, por eso se les dice aca en argentina "Gil", el gil es el que labura y hace "las cosas bien"

When a desire drives you, any sacrifice is worthwhile, but this story refers to a tragic moment that all Argentinians experienced, when they found out that all the savings they had (from all the members of the cooperative) in the same account, and that the same account could only be used for (if I remember correctly, $100 a month) a grossly less amount than what they had deposited. They felt more than cheated, which is why here in Argentina they are called "Gil" (fool), the gil is the one who works and does "things right."

Estos "Giles" se adentran en la aventura de descubrir que paso, unos se enojan echándole la culpa al protagonista, y se terminan yendo del pueblo, otros se resignan, acostumbrados a que las cosas salgan como es de costumbre, pero una idea de venganza, y de buscar algo de justicia los mueve juntos a encontrar el dinero que en resumidas cuentas lo tiene el intendente de su pueblo, tipico ladron de guante blanco

These "Giles" embark on an adventure to discover what happened. Some get angry, blaming the protagonist, and end up leaving town. Others resign themselves, used to things turning out as usual. But an idea of revenge, and of seeking some justice, moves them together to find the money that, in short, is held by the mayor of their town, a typical white-collar thief.

Varias escenas en la pelicula nos demuestran el lado mas atros y menos humano de los ladrones, y mas (siempre agrego) en esta epoca en donde el individualismo asota todo obtencion de derechos...

Several scenes in the film show us the most atrocious and least human side of thieves, and even more so (I always add) in this era where individualism undermines all efforts to obtain rights...

Espero que disfruten de esta pelicula y la sientan como propia al ver como sueños se ven destrozados a causa de un poder politico de hijos de puta. Sin mas, un saludo a los amantes del cine de Hive, nos vemos en la siguiente pelicula
