The Aviator, a classic movie directed by Martin Scorsese( legendary director) and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is a gripping true life story drama that revolves around the rise and unraveling of aviation pioneer and film mogul Howard Hughes(he’s the inspiration behind marvels Iron man). Set between the 1920s and the 1940s, the film captures Howards’ obsession with perfection and innovation.
The story follows how Hughes as he directs Hell’s Angels, a groundbreaking war film, and makes daring advancements in aviation with projects like the H-1 Racer. Along the way, he rubs shoulders with Hollywood elites, romances stars like Katharine Hepburn (played brilliantly by Kate Blanchett), and clashes with political and business rivals.
A little bit about Hughes character i, his mental health which shows him spiral due to a severe case OCD, leading to moments of intense isolation and breakdowns. Their was a scene where his food was brought to him and he had 12 peas symmetrically arranged and his friend he was having dinner with took one of the peas, making them 11 in total and he (howard hughes) immediately lost appetite or another scene where he couldn’t use the door knob to open the bathroom because he’d already used all his tissue he normally carries with him to the toilet specifically for opening the door knob and he had to wait for someone to open the bathroom door from the outside so he could sneakily walk out. Leonardo DiCaprio delivers a haunting performance, showing Hughes as a man both brilliant and deeply tormented.
