Hello everyone!!
What does it mean for me today?
Traditions are that beautiful connection we have with our past, we can be technological and advanced, but there will always be a tradition that connects us with our ancestors, with our family, with someone we love. You may not even believe in that tradition but something of it attracts, that happens to me with the May cross.
Here in Venezuela May is the month of the cross, on May 3 "The cross is undressed" this is to remove the decoration from the previous year.
and with any material, be it bags, recycling paper, corn leaves, "The cross is dressed"
To make it more beautiful, you can add details such as flowers, stones, drawings... What fits you.
This is a tradition of the Venezuelan plains and throughout the month people make tributes and parties to the cross, hold meetings, dances, drink coffee or chocolate and ask the cross to rain in order to have good harvests.
We dressed this cross because at my niece's school, they sent her to do a job in a Venezuelan tradition, and when it was May it occurred to us that this was the best.
When many people come together and believe in something, those energies are felt in the environment, in the case of May 3 if a different energy is felt, maybe it will not rain, but people believe that something good will happen and that is the most beautiful of traditions, people come together, people have faith, people believe that something good will happen and that for me, today is what is most valuable, FAITH.
What does it mean for me today?
