I Once Owned Half a Million DOGE... For a Day

I wish I hadn't opened my Exodus wallet last night and look into my transactions history because I felt asleep quite hard afterwards. @onealfa had a tweet today about how long is taking him to fall asleep usually and looks like the man can fall into deep sleep in 1-2 minutes.

It sometimes takes me two hours to do that...

Last night was one of these nights when I fell asleep harder than usual, just because I opened that damn wallet and got to see that in late December 2019 I owned more than half a million DOGE "for one day".

Had I not dissipated it all on all sort of futile trades and managed to hold until May 2021 I could sit right now on quite a nice pile of cash... but looks like I'm a too bad investor to make life changing money. That's the truth.

I have always dreamed of becoming rich and $400,000 in this country is not really peanuts money, but rarely does one become rich over night and probably even scarcer are the cases where you make life changing money without a strategy and believe me you don't have to do anything out of ordinary to make money in crypto.

You just have to have strong hands, patience and a bit of vision for the future. All I had to do with that DOGE was to hold for about two years and I could have turned a grand in 400, but I didn't, and I regret it and that's why I went to sleep harder than usual last night.

Crypto was supposed to be that easy money making way, but it sure feels harder than I imagine and there's actually no one to be blamed, but myself. I have completely forgot why I took out these 588,000 DOGE from that wallet and sold them, but I sure know I was a DOGE fanatic at some point.

I liked their community, transfers speed and cheap fees, I have really considered for a while that Dogecoin was a true example of how a decentralized blockchain project should look like, but something happened, something must have changed my take on the DOGE and I find myself now with way less than $400,000 in cash due to poor strategies...

I know, no one knew Elon would come in 2021 and pump the meme coin that much and there's also slight chances I would have held all the way to the top anyway, but even a tenth of that value if I'd managed to make from all that DOGE would have been great.

Regrets are useless now, cuz I can't turn back time, but I can clearly learn a lot from such an experience. I'm in crypto for four damn years and still learning, probably it's time I should finally put this education to work... it doesn't have to be that hard. I guess I should learn HODLing and think more in crypto than in fiat.

I guess this is the way...

Thanks for attention,
Adrian

Ah yes Doge was a fun token back in the day. Legit faucets used to pay you like 100 doge lol which would be $14 today! Imagine a hourly claim of 100 doge a few years ago and how much it would be today.

I played around with that token a little too much and at one time had 3 million. oof lesson learned hold on to a majority and only play with some no matter how silly of a token it might be!

Yes it was fun and had utility for trading because it was in exchanges everywhere. I once wrote a paper on its utility transferring value faster and cheaper then Bitcoin. I too had accumulated some, but then jumped on the Steemit train and now I am here. Hindsight is 20/29.

3 million would have been good money right now

Don't remind me lol I still had a few thousands I let go around $0.07 and bought hive with ;)

What a hard memory...🙁

It's Exodus fault... I just opened it and looked through transaction history and got to see that. I'm pretty much like that pizza guy :))

Just hold and have patience as how much have we all thrown away by thinking we are so smart.

This…

Crypto was supposed to be that easy money making way, but it sure feels harder than I imagine

…is felt by so many of us.

Think about how much time we have held on Hive.
It takes some conviction and feedback to keep you hodling or dumb luck of losing your wallet and great luck finding the keys.

LOL 😂

Indeed. It took me years before I actually started monetizing my blog.

I had 85k of Dogecoin at this time last year.
I have 15k left.
I more than Doubled my HP.
Have a Non-Hive $15K Crypto Portfolio.
And added $3500 in gold and silver.

you're doing fine.

I would have bought a Testla sedan 3 with Dogecoin but...
Thank you, Elon.

Well! just one thing is certain about the crypto world and that is uncertainty itself. It hurts when you make a trade for cheap just to realize later that you could have made so much from that same trade than what you made.

but looks like I'm a too bad investor to make life-changing money.

About this, I can say if you were a bad investor or not but here is my take on that. If the situation that led to you trading your DOGE was for a noble purpose then you made no mistake and you're not a bad investor but if you made the trade for the fear of value drop, then you were not futuristic in that.

I attended a financial summit somewhere and for the first time I heard about the term "financial emotion".

I think if you knew better, you wouldn't have traded your DOGE then that's why we at all times should learn to go for knowledge.

Sorry about this sir

Some tokens I used to own

1.5 million matic (before rebranding to polygon)
1.5 million tfuel
3.5 million ripple

Funny enough, the thing I own now outperformed of them :)

I think at the current price it is just over $70K, I atuaclly have half a million shiba and hope to keep it in hld until it is worth over a thousand dollars.

By the way @onealpha do you know the technique to sleep in 2 minutes? i would like to see a viedeo lol.

I guess you weren't really patient with it but it's past now I believe you must have also learnt your lesson of thinking long term in crypto

I have to agree DOGE is probably better than SHIB and the other variants because you can still use it to transfer money. Then again I tend to avoid these coins because they don't usually have any good use cases.

Learning is a long and very expensive task.

Oh, definitely.

Never ever look at your Exodus history, my dude. My ETH transfer history is a horror story. Not to mention that I spent at least a few million Doge on gambling and online entertainment in 2018/19.

It is what it is. Crypto like Doge is for spending, not hoarding imo.

I have never touched Doge. And will not. Even with a 10 feet pole

Jeez, Doge pump was indeed unfortunate to miss. It made a fuss around one time, everyone wanted to buy doge. Many people came to know for the first time that there is something called doge which is a crypto currency.

DOGE was a good trade for whoever played it right.
