This is my story and it is what we are currently going through now as we speak. People are dying of hunger. People are living in dept. Some can't pay bills any more. People can't take care of their families anymore because of the scarcity of money
The question is - can we survive without money? Can we cope? Things has refused to normalized. This is what we pray for everyday of our lives in the current situation of things now.
When a government decides to put a law without taking into consideration wether we have what it takes to carry us through, it becomes a very big problem for everyone. But most especially the common people among us are suffering it the more.
This is Nigeria for now. This is where we see ourselves. This is what people go through now. It there any way out? Can anything be done to stop it? This is the very question that no one has the answer to it. A policy was passed of no more use of the old currency in the country because a new one has been made available for us to use. Only for people to carry all the old money to deposit in bank thinking that the new one will be issued, but the reverse is the case. We can't have the old currency and the new one is no where to be found. This is actually very hard for people to cope with.
The issue is not that you don't have money, but the issue is that even with your money in the bank, you have no access to it. When you try making transfer, the transfer will not go and your money will be deducted. So, we are presently in a tight corner.
For how long shall we continue without money to keep body and soul together. We have families, but can't feed them because we can't have access to what belongs to use.
Lord, please have mercy on us and come to our aid in this present situation.

It is even harder living without money in climates with pronounced winters. Edible plants disappear and people must pay for heat or freeze to death.
Your question is about what communities must do to survive without money.
I believe that the best answer is to create informal systems that engage in barter and charity.
In a barter economy people simply use the stuff they have as money.
I threw in the word charity. Sadly, most of the people who engage trading used products are out to take everything they can from the people with whom they trade.
For a barter community to work people need to have a charitable mindset and intentionally act to engage in fair trade.
A blockchain can help people in barter communities. A blockchain is essentially an open ledger. People can record their trades on a blockchain.
I suspect that HIVE is particularly useful as one can work in different tokens as they engage in trade.

And we wonder how the governments that we elect are either hopelessly corrupt, totally incompetent or both. This kind of distress and suffering could have been avoided. I can imagine this will lead to large protests. With more people in my country becoming destitute and my government making the same mistakes I can't see no other way for real change.
