Explorers have found that Son Doong hosts an untouched prehistoric rainforest, an underground river, and over 250 endemic species of plants and animals. Recent discoveries have even unveiled seven new species that exist nowhere else in the world. Stretching over 9 kilometers and with a volume of 38.5 million cubic meters, the cave’s immense passages create an environment where a variety of species—a mix of transparent fish, colorful monkeys, and rare plants—can coexist, forming a biodiversity hotspot in an otherwise barren underground setting.
