Despite its incredible features, the world remained oblivious to Son Doong’s existence for millions of years. It wasn't until 2009 that its secrets were unveiled, revealing a treasure trove of geological formations and life forms. Due to the delicacy of this environment, individual access is restricted and explorations can only be conducted through a licensed expedition by Oxalis, the sole authorized guide into the cave.
The journey to reach Son Doong demands dedication and preparation. A trek through dense jungle, lasting approximately nine hours, eventually leads to “N Cave,” the third-largest cave in the world, acting as the gateway to Son Doong. Travelers must be fully equipped and knowledgeable, aware of the cave’s diverse habitats and the many formations they will encounter.
