In early 2023, Jeff’s choice of deck surprised everyone: he played Exodia—the legendary “forbidden one” known for its gimmicky, outdated playstyle. Traditionally regarded as uncompetitive due to its reliance on luck and dead draws, Exodia’s win condition involves assembling all five pieces in hand to instantly win the duel. Most modern decks could easily disrupt this plan with hand traps like Ash Blossom or Nibiru.
