Have you ever pondered why Russia, despite its size and status as a great European power, has a per capita income that lags behind much of Europe? The simplest and more convincing answer lies in the logistical challenges posed by its geography. Although Russia is vast, much of its coastline is not conducive to trade due to its harsh Arctic climate.
