The hands-on experience comes with its fair share of frustrations and humorous moments. Using an array of tools, this amateur mechanic wrangles with awkward bolts and tight spaces, trying to figure out how to disconnect various components without further damaging the engine.
With support from the experienced crew, progress starts to flow. After several hours of dedicated effort, the old turbo finally comes out. The comparison to the new turbo reinforces the importance of this task — the excessive play in the shaft of the removed turbo is a red flag.
