Part 2/7:
This decision shakes the foundation of TypeScript, as it has largely been hindered by its own architecture. TypeScript itself is built using TypeScript, a recursion that presents intrinsic limitations for optimization. The existing TypeScript compiler has struggled with low-level tasks which hinder performance — tasks such as direct memory access and native multi-threading.
The Evolution of TypeScript
TypeScript, created by Anders Hejlsberg, is fast becoming one of the cornerstones of web development. It serves as a superset of JavaScript, compiled or transpiled into JavaScript code that runs in environments such as Node.js, Dino, Bun, or the browser itself. However, its reliance on TypeScript for its compiler has created a bottleneck in speed and efficiency.
