This dynamism reveals a critical problem for conservatism itself: when pressing issues arise, the movement often reacts not with clear principles but rather with what might best be described as a nostalgic view favoring traditional ideals. This nostalgic longing compels some conservatives to wish for an idealized past rather than envisioning progressive solutions.
