With the shell exposed, insulation became a top priority. The owner opted for sound deadening, which many consider unnecessary weight, but based on previous experience, they found it essential, particularly in open-plan layouts without a bulkhead. They used pre-cut rectangles of sound insulation, applying them efficiently with adhesive while ensuring every area was sufficiently covered—without compromising future installations of windows or roof vents.

Following sound insulation, they secured 12 mm battens to the floor, enhancing stability and providing ample anchoring points for the upcoming flooring installation. The original marine ply flooring was in decent shape and was reused, exemplifying a focus on maintaining quality while minimizing waste.
