Part 8/10:
Our Facebook discussions erupted into a prolonged back-and-forth, filled with accusations and misinterpretations. It became evident how deeply entrenched his beliefs were, as he insisted that he had made profits while with WFG and that my viewpoint was skewed. Despite my attempts to engage him critically, he consistently deflected the discussion back to personal attacks rather than addressing the substance of my criticisms.
He vehemently defended WFG's business model, illuminating his retained loyalty even after he was no longer affiliated with them. The logical fallacies and cognitive dissonance in his words were apparent, but I was exhausted from attempting to argue against someone in a state of denial. The finality of this exchange marked the real end of our friendship.
