Part 3/12:
Another stark example of Neo-Nazi extremism is the National Socialist Underground (NSU), which operated in Germany between 2001 and 2010. Led by Uwe Mundlos and Uwe Böhnhardt, the NSU was buried in secrecy, supported by a network of over 100 individuals. Their heinous crimes included several murders, most notably targeting immigrants and a police officer, alongside multiple bombings and bank heists. In 2011, after a failed robbery, the leaders were found dead in what appeared to be a murder-suicide, marking the end of one of Germany's most dangerous extremist groups since the Red Army Faction era.
