Founded in the 1970s by Richard G. Butler, the Aryan Nations emerged as the ideological backbone of American Neo-Nazism. Their belief system intertwined Nazi ideology with Christian identity principles, asserting that white Aryans were divinely chosen while branding Jews as devilish. The group became infamous for its domestic terror activities; however, legal troubles, including a multi-million dollar lawsuit after a racially charged incident, ultimately bankrupted the organization by the late 1990s, leading to its fragmentation.
