Political maneuvering led to an eventual purge of non-Enclave members during the immediate aftermath of the Great War. Those leaders who were unaware or opposed to The Enclave's objectives either disappeared or met mysterious ends. Senator Blackwell, who voiced concerns about government conspiracies, met his demise at the hands of an Enclave hitman after surviving the initial nuclear strikes.
