Driving home after the scan, I received a call from the imaging center. The urgency and gravity in the voice of the imaging technician raised alarm bells; I needed to see a doctor immediately. Joking to myself about the unlikely chance of finding anything serious, I returned to work. Later that day, an MRI was scheduled, which confirmed the presence of a mass in my brain, leading to an emergency appointment with a neurosurgeon.
